Summer Activity
Summer activity
Summer is a special time when children get to do fun things. You have more time during the day to choose activities that you enjoy doing with your friends or family, outdoors or indoors. There are many different ways to have fun in the summer. What’s yours? Summer time is the best time to hang with your family because there’s no school. My favorite summer memory is when I went to Camp Oaks. Camp Oaks take on a trip with nature. The squirrel’s big bubbly eyes are so adorable. The squirrels were hopping trees like flying pancakes. Nature is fresh smell, and you get the outdoor experience. At camp the first activity I remember doing was the scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt was exploring and taking in nature. While on the scavenger hunt, my group and I seen a big, hairy, scary, bear. My group came in 2nd place for the hunt and we got $100 in camp money. The horseback riding was scary the first time because I thought the horse was go knock me down because it was shaking like a wet dog after getting a bath. One thing I didn’t do at camp oaks because I was doing the obstacles; I am afraid of heights but I love roller coasters. We did the bow and arrow game. One thing we did everyday was go to church and had amazing camp fires.
Camp Oaks was place I can say I learn a lot about nature, made new friends, and experience stuff I thought I will never do. If you need something fun and educational to do doing the summer the best place would be camp oaks. There are many different ways to have fun in the summer. What’s

Have you ever been to a camp that did not even have a roof to cover the rain? The camp had tons of people, especially friends, it had to different cabins, five for the boys and five for the girls. The camp had an awesome pool and an amazing lake that a lot of people swam in. There were also a lot of cookout with no hot dogs, pork chops, burgers, and only marshmallows for dessert. At nighttime there would be wonderful tag games in the dark and when you were done, you get to talk with other people. The camp lasts a total of at least 7 long days and a lot of people would probably want to come back a second time. Also the name of the camp is Camp Manitowa which is located in Benton, Illinois.…

I didn’t really do much over the summer. We went to Indiana beach, and I am not too fond of roller coasters, or any ride for that matter, except for at water parks. Last year in 7th grade we went to Washington D.C and saw the washington monument, lincoln memorial, we went inside the Capitol building, The Changing of the Guard at Arlington cemetery, saw The White House. That didn’t really interest me, I don’t even have any souvenirs! Even earlier in the year, we went to Buffalo, New York. We saw a football game (the team we were rooting for lost,(TO THE JETS!) and we got to see Niagara Falls.…

I have gone to Camp Sierra Vista for the past eight years of my life. Camp has taught me many things. How to be myself, how to work well with others, how to have fun, and mainly how to be a leader. I was never really one to be a leader of a group at school, but at camp, I was.…

This trip wasn’t like the others, it was a vacation compared to the other high adventure camps. We flew down to Miami and drove to the base, which was in the Florida Keys. The next day we took two warrior canoes, which were canoes the fit about seven people in each, and paddled five miles out to and island where we would stay for the next six days. Instead of hiking or climbing mountains, our trip consisted of tenting out on an island where we fished, snorkeled and kayaked for the next week. My favorite part about this trip was relaxing in a hammock for hours watching the tides change. This was a dramatic change from my two previous summers of hard labor and exhausting hiking and canoeing; but it taught me that hard work pays…

Summer to me is the season of fun; the season where kids get to be outside play all day long because the day is illuminated by the sun almost until eight at night. I got to play all day and it was even better when my cousins came over, I especially enjoyed this season when I was little. I have four other cousins that are about my age so you can imagine how chaotic it was with six kids from ages six to ten years old being together. As all kids we looked for adventure with our imagination, we invented games, and our parents taught us games they played when they were younger. One game that especially stood out was a game called “hoyitos” or “little holes”.…

Summers in a revival tent are not what dreams are made but they are most of my childhood memories. I say summer but really it was spring, fall, and sometimes the first part of winter too. My siblings and I had a part in most every detail of the revival. We would help set the tent, set out the chairs, and get the sound system ready. My brother and I also sang. After the service we would take everything inside down and prepare for the next night. When that revival would end we would head to the next town. My summers were rarely sports and relaxation, but they were always faith and…

Over the 12 day hike, we climbed numerous mountains through different terrains, saw different animals both dead and alive and learned so much about nature and conservation. We met so many fellow scouts and adults from all over the country and other countries, which was a great learning experience. I participated in games and activities like throwing tomahawk, Fly Fishing, Archery, Muzzle Loading Rifles, enjoyed the Sweat Lodge, visited some famous sites like the pioneer Kit Carson’s home along the Santa Fe Trail, helped the staff at Carson Meadows with a search and rescue mission, learned how to homestead at Crooked Creek, enjoyed mountain living, visited the wreckage of a B24 bomber that crashed while on a training mission in 1942 that can only be seen by hiking all the way to the top of the mountain, ate a chuck wagon dinner, enjoyed a cowboy campfire, visited the Continental Tie and Lumber Company at Crater Lake and worked on a trail construction project with the Conservation Department. All this was a memorable experience that I will cherish…

Another reason summer is my favorite season is because there is no school. School can be fun sometimes but it is always nice to have a 3 month break. You don't have to worry about school and or anything. You can just forget all about school and have fun during the summer. Summer is also a great way to make new friends. You can hang out with different people ever night. So if you have never meet someone and you hang out with them. You could maybe become best friends just by hanging out with them. Iowa is great for…

One of my favorite activities was sock wars, and no that is not were you have a competition to see who has the stinkiest socks, even though I would defiantly win that. It is a game were the whole entire camp splits up in to two teams. Each team had a flag and we filled are socks with saw dust, and you run around hitting each other with socks and trying to get the other teams flag. When camp was over I was happy to see my parents but the count down in my head had already begun The next summer when I went to…
