Workers' Compensation is mandatory in Florida, and it is law. This law requires employers with four or more full- or part-time employees to have workers’ compensation coverage for their employees. Florida workers compensation exposure is high with car washes that provide hand-wash operations (Einsurance, n.d.).
Workers compensation is insurance providing replacement of wages and medical benefits to employees injured at their place of employment in exchange for relinquishing (mandatory) their right to sue the employer for negligence.
