We realize that the on-line and telephone interviews and diaries that are part of the Telework Pilot Project are vital to refining the Telework Toolkit, so that other organizations will benefit. We commit to supporting the importance of these reports to our managers and participating workers.
We recognize that there may be challenges in setting up our Telework Program ~ issues to explore and decisions to be made: Who will be eligible for teleworking? What level of computer security do we need? Who will pay for Internet access when working off-site? There may be practical challenges in its early stages, and managers may be uncomfortable with a new style of supervision. We commit to working through these stumbling blocks and reporting them ~ our pioneer experience may help someone else later on.
The Telework Toolkit is a best-effort prototype. The goal of the Telework Pilot Project is to use, evaluate, and improve it for others’ use throughout Washington State. We understand that our use of the Telework Toolkit and our participation in the Telework Pilot Project is at our own expense and our own

The company has agreed that this is a good move, however, if the process of setting up the equipment, managing the security and providing training goes on too long, then it will start to negatively affect the company over-all. Currently there is concern if the technology will be delivered due to an unforeseen fire, this set back will be costly in time and work. Also, a second part of time being a risk is managing faulty or dying equipment. Home offices will take longer to assess and fix in the long run. It also includes the field of telemedicine, which is the more limited area of dealing with the curative part of health care. It includes any situation in which telecommunication is used in the medical field and can be as simple as a patient being able to look up test results via the internet, having a doctor’s appointment by way of a video call or a more complex situation such as one surgeon assisting another during an actual procedure by web cam. The possibilities are endless. The following report contains general descriptions of two different current telehealth programs, ECU and RCCHC, in part one, and then in part two, the answers to a few questions in order to understand the current status and possible issues with the adoption of telehealth today.…

The first concern would be the effect the change would have to our customers, shareholders, employees, departments, and the community. There would be plenty of communication session regarding the change. Employees would not only be given information about the positive and the negative aspects of the new concept but would have opportunities to ask questions and voice their concerns as well. This will help to do any problem-solving in the groundbreaking stage. One negative aspect of my organization is that the employees were not given any information or asked their opinions regarding the move. There should have been surveys, questionnaires or meetings to give and get some feedback. The strategies and goals of an organization rely on employees’ involvement as well as commitment. There would be plenty of training offered to everyone. The Human Resource Management aspects must include acquiring, preparing, compensating, and training and developing for the employees. There will need to be policies changes made as well, employees would be asked their input in developing the new policies. Boundaries that were previously established would be abandoned. I would start the virtual workplace with my managers/supervisors collaborating with my HR department. This team would be responsible for identifying the best talent “talentship” (Moore, 2007) and connecting…

Please read this Case Study and Evaluate options. Should the availability of alternative work arrangements for private sector employees in the United States be mandated by law? Why or Why not? Explain your answer. No; because it should be employees choice if they want to work for an employer that has alternative work arrangements in their organization. Alternative work arrangements programs or guarantee employee participation in established programs, implementation and usage of alternative work arrangements programs depends upon management support and leadership. Alternative work arrangements can generate beneficial outcomes, particularly for employers, such as “increased employee retention, loyalty and morale; higher productivity; improved recruiting of highly qualified workers; decreased employee tardiness and unscheduled absences; and maximum used of facilities and equipment. And on balance, the positives seem to outweigh the negatives. Organizations that offer flexible working arrangements are, and will continue to be, employers of choice. Employees consistently rank flexible schedules high on their list of desired benefits; employers who are reluctant to offer these popular perks will find themselves falling short in the bidding wars for talent. Many nations have experimented successfully with various flexible work programs, and in some countries laws have been enacted to make alternative work arrangements more accessible to employees. The United States Congress has not enacted such legislation for the private sector; it has taken an important step in supporting alternative work arrangements for federal government employees. The Telework Enhancement Act of 2010 was passed by both house of Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010. The Act provides a framework for agencies to better leverage technology and to maximize the use of flexible work arrangements. This will aid in recruiting new Federal…

The Indiana Family and Social Service Administration have incurred an increased workload due to a change in the policy manual caused from a lawsuit. Employees are required to work overtime to complete weekly goals. With the increased workload and overtime that is performed the utility expenses and employee’s pay have increased. This is causing negative impact on the budget. This change has also decreased personal time for employees and morale in the agency has decreased. With the low morale in the work environment employee productivity has decreased also. Management wants to create the opportunity for employees to work from home. By allowing employees to work from home will decrease expenses for the agency and increase morale and productivity for employees. The FSSA is afraid that retaining employees in a supervised building will lead to an unsatisfied work environment and employees will abandon their positions.
