Summary Of Let's Steroids Into The Hall Of Fame
Steroids is a performance enhancing drug use by mostly baseball players. In the article “ Let’s steroids Into the Hall of Fame” by Zev Chafets, agreed that steroids should be let into the Hall of Fame. His reasons were: “ Helps them perform better, heal faster or relax during a long stressful season and calm players nerves. He also goes on and says “ allows fans to see what was really happening.”. Using steroids is cheating and users do not deserve credit for their accomplishments. Steroids can create an imbalance between players. Using steroids also can be very unsafe. I disagree with the writer, steroids should not be used in the Hall of Fame.
There are many talented athletes that work hard to condition their bodies for the sport they play. The thought of you working twice as hard as someone else seems unfair. Using steroids is dishonest and no one should be rewarded for fake accomplishments. The drugs someone may be taking could be the reason they play so good. If using steroids make you a better player, that only means the players that isn’t using has an unfair advantage. The feeling and knowing that you got rewarded for something you work very hard for is the best feeling. Players using steroids miss out on that feeling. The steroid cycle costs a lot of money that not everyone has. This can cause a problem and create an imbalance between people. One player may be able to afford the drug continuously and another play might not be able to. There’s a good amount of money you have to put into these drugs. People are spending unnecessary money when they can just get a gym membership. If players on the team feel a type of way towards a player using steroids, that can create bad blood and vibes between them. A team that doesn’t work together is a team that doesn't win

This of course helps the player hit more homeruns and throw the ball farther. “Someone who is on steroids will experience increased performance in all athletic pursuits and will appear more physically imposing” (“Lemouse”). Every day people think that steroids just give the athlete more strength but in actuality they do more than just that. Like mentioned in the previous paragraph steroids do more to help the athlete like gain endurance to do the workout and they also help with tissue repair and recovery (Lemouse). Players Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, and Roger Clemens used steroids more for the healing factor rather than the physical gains. Mainly athletes will use steroids to become stronger and bigger to become better players though. The gains that an athlete gets from steroids are usually seen around 6 to 12 weeks, yet they can still see changes around the 3 week mark (Linnaeus).
