The novel Suddenly Supernatural Unhappy Medium, written by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel, shows a lot of different themes, through various characters, relationships, and ghosts, but readers might say that the main theme is supernatural. So the friends are connected into the supernatural through Kat telling them. The second way that Kat’s friends show supernatural is because of the advice that they give Kat about the ghosts. “Kat you need to stop talking about ghosts because they are not real, no matter what you tell us we wont believe in you.” (43) Thirdly, when Kat went to prove to her friends that the ghosts are real, she took the friends to the hotel and then they realized that they can communicate with the ghosts too.
