There are many times where this seems like too much, and several situations can lead to the same result: feeling overwhelmed. Many students often run into this problem and desperately look for a way to fix it; however, if an individual takes part in a study period, chances are they do not have such a big problem with missing work as those who don't. Study hall is a great way of fitting extra time into a busy student's schedule. It provides the necessary break from the crowded and noisy environment of the school that every pupil needs. Although countless students perform well without the need for a study hall, some may not be able to keep up with the above average pupils. In any case, there is no reason for any school to disapprove of a study hall without looking into it

Across the nation, thousands of students ranging from elementary to college levels are sent back to their place of residence after a long day of lectures with work they must complete in order to be prepared for the next day of class. For younger students, the load is minimal, and may only consist of reviewing their vocabulary words. However, for students in high school and beyond, their backpacks are stretching at the seams with books to read, notes to study, papers to write, projects to complete. While many will ignore their responsibilities to focus on their extracurriculars, headstrong students with a yearn for learning will set their sights on their assignments and stay cooped up at a desk for hours upon hours in order to comprehend every…

Most teachers give out textbooks for their class and carrying those around could be a struggle. It would be hard to keep all of the work organized for the classes and students would possibly need to buy more school supplies then they need. To be completely organized a student would need a folder, notebook or binder for each of their classes. For me, the block schedules are easier than the period schedules because I can carry my first two blocks of work then go to my locker before third block and get what I need for for my last two blocks. When students have a limited number of classes, it would be less time in the hallways which would be unlikely for students to disrupt…

The majority of the girls listen to music while doing their homework. The girls that are listening to music are usually studying by themselves and then there are groups of girls that sit at the tables in the dining hall to study together. The formal is a room with two doors that when shut block out the noise from the foyer, there are numerous couches and lamps nearby for direct light. I have noticed that although I do study in the formal and dining room, the majority of my studying is done in my room. I set everything up at my desk and study there while I play music aloud because I don’t have to worry about disturbing…

Have you ever heard of the book Where The Wild things are by Maurice Sendak? This book is very popular among children and adults. While I was researching and investigating Maurice Sendak, I found a lot of interesting facts about his life and accomplishments. Maurice Sendak was born on June 10, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York and died on May 8, 2012 (About). His Jewish family came to the United States from Poland and lost many members of their extended family due to the Holocaust. Maurice was a sickly child and had to spend a lot of time indoors. He spent a lot of time reading, drawing, and letting his imagination run free (goodreads). Maurice learned to love stories as a young child when his father told him embellished versions of Bible stories. At the age of twelve, Maurice became very inspired by the animated world of Walt Disney’s “Fantasia.” He was fascinated with Disney, particularly Mickey Mouse and the film Fantasia, which he saw when he was twelve and had a lasting effect on him. In 1948 he worked at FAO Schwartz as a window dresser while he took night classes at the New York Arts Students League.…

The constant complain of first year students about not having a place for them to hang out during their free time because most study areas and even libraries are dominantly occupied by older students, was finally solved when I made representations in the school board to ask for funds for the construction of at least two study sheds exclusively for the use of freshmen. The construction was done before the end of the first semester, and the facilities are now serving their purpose to the delight of our youngest students.…
