Good Study Habits When I was in high school and even now that I am in college I have a hard time choosing good study habits for certain classes. However, I am not the only one struggling many other students in high school or college have a difficult time choosing good study habits. There are many study habits one can practice.
One great study habit is to know the right place to study. Students do not want to study where there is so much noise or where there are distractions. For example, if students decides to study at a park, they are going to constantly want to tell people to keep it quiet. Also, most students decide to study in their dorm; however, students can easily get distracted because of a computer, television, or even their roommate. Some great places to study would be the library and a study hall.
Another great study habit is to have items one may need and not unnecessary things. For example, students now want to use laptops to take notes, but why not just stay old-fashioned with paper and pencil. Taking paper and pencil will allow you to concentrate more. Why? People ask. Well, when students take their laptops, they have a more possible way to get distracted by going onto websites that are not necessary such as Facebook or Twitter. Always take everything the first time because it is time consuming when you have to go back and forth. This is going to help especially when students have found a great place to study.
Finally, a third study habit is making a schedule one can stick to. Students, most of the time just say, “I will study once I get a chance.” If students make a schedule just like their school schedule. They will find it less hassle in the long run because they will than now when to study, and when there is a great time to go out with friends. For instance, students can study thirty minutes a day. Studying every day with a schedule will allow students to find it easier to remember the material, than jamming everything in an hour or so, the night before class.
Study habits can be pretty difficult to be put into practice. Students will appreciate at the end of the day how putting these study habits in practice will help not only while in school, but for their rest of their lives.
