Based on the readings I have read, there’s a change in diversity. They wrote more formal kinds of writings that are very informational. The writer was almost the embodiment of the enlightenment. They wrote arguments, formed their own opinions on matters, and made appeals to others to share in their thinking get angry at them, or so they thought. I mentioned at the beginning there are a lot of similarities in the writings. Both contributed all of their ideas to God, and gave God the credit.. The readings had ideas of equality, and both made sure that the next generation was better off than they. Some differences attached to that, like how they made sure the next generation was safe or how they viewed and implemented equality. They all wanted freedom and if they win they have the freedom of religion or to live life. If they didn’t win they suffered being a slave and didn’t get to practice their religion. In the readings that there were different races that have different cultures in a group well an organization.

He shaped American history because his achievements were unprecedented. Franklin was the mind behind America’s first public library, first national newspaper, and first non-religious college. Serving as a founding father, he helped build America from the ground up, from the rubble and difficulties that led to independence to the formation of American government. His confidence in American growth and strength led to significant political and scientific breakthroughs that still continue to be used in modern times. Though he may not have been recognized widely at the time, his diligence to succeed outweighed any impediments that he may have faced.…

Paine was angry with the first one that his publisher put out for the Colonists to read so he made a second and released it on February 14, 1776 and the newer one was a third larger than the first one. Interesting thing about Paine was that his last name was spelled “P-a-i-n” but added an “e” at the end when he thought he was no longer an Englishmen. “He was a new man, a successful American; he was Thomas Paine” (Paine, page 28). Paine also played a huge role in the politics of the war period, in Pennsylvania helping to shape the new state constitution and in the nation, itself carrying out the important foreign assignments. “The ease with which political arguments could, in fact, use scientific and technical principles is illustrated beautifully in Common Sense with its discussions of weights and forces” (Paine, page…

This essay will not complete without knowing who is Benjamin Franklin really, Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston on January 17, 1706. He was the tenth son of soap maker, Josiah Franklin. Benjamin's mother was Abiah Folger, the second wife of Josiah. In all, Josiah would father 17 children. Josiah intended for Benjamin to enter into the clergy. However, Josiah could only afford to send his son to school for one year and clergymen needed years of schooling. But, as young Benjamin loved to read he had him apprenticed to his brother James, who was a printer. After helping James compose pamphlets and set type which was grueling work, 12-year-old Benjamin would sell their products in the streets. Franklin was elected to the Second Continental Congress…

According to Richard Wright, “All literature is protest. You cannot name a single literary work that is not protest.” This means that literature is usually based on a reflection on society which is protest. Literature exposes the dark side of society. I agree with this quote because literature is one of the protruding ways to understand how one thinks about an idea. The author’s opinion is a protest against what other may believe. Coherently, in the bildungsroman Black boy by Richard Wright portrays how literature is protest.…

Although his printing career was successful, he had many other accomplishments that make him one of the most influential Founding Fathers in America. A major accomplishment of his was when he successfully negotiated to form an essential military alliance with France in 1778 as the American Revolution progressed, as well as negotiating the Treaty of Paris in 1783 after the Americans emerged victorious in the Revolution. Additionally, Franklin was a significant contributor to the repeal of the Stamp Act in 1766. Franklin was appointed to be the first Postmaster General in the U.S. in 1775, and he was one of the five men that drafted the Declaration of Independence in 1776. One of the things that peaks my interest in Benjamin Franklin and what inspired me to choose him for this essay is his passion for science and his inventions. Before he turned his interest to electricity and conducted his renowned kite-and-key experiment to demonstrate that lightning was a form of electricity, he had previously invented a flexible catheter, a heat-efficient stove, the Armonica, swim fins, and bifocals. Franklin got the nickname the “First American” because he was a genuine polymath and tycoon in the eyes of the public. The last public act that he was involved in was in 1789, when he wrote an anti-slavery treatise. The most interesting fact that I discovered about Franklin is that he was an ardent chess player. Seeing as how I really enjoy playing chess, I found this newfound information quite fascinating. In 1999, Ben was initiated into the United States Chess Hall of Fame and the second oldest chess club in the U.S., The Franklin Mercantile Chess Club in Philadelphia, was named in honor of him. If I was given the opportunity to have a face-to-face encounter with the “First American,” Benjamin Franklin, I would ask him if he thought America would…

Paine presented multiple arguments in his pamphlet, Common Sense. One of his arguments that stood out to me the most is that regarding the monarchy and hereditary succession. Paine describes how nobody chooses to live poorly and cannot choose the status of their descendants and the importance and idea of equality. He describes the difference between Kinds and subjects as being unnecessary and unethical. Everyone is equal at creation. People of the colonies could relate to this on a religious aspect as well, because the Bible supports his statements. Paine supported the beliefs of freedom of property to all men and freedom on religion. Paine also discussed America and the relationship with Great-Britain. Paine stated that America had become dependent on Great-Brittan and that success and happiness should not be reliant on another country. He wrote that Great-Britain had nobody’s interest in mind but their own. Paine also pointed out the unnecessary quarrels with other countries such as France and Spain, due to the fact that we were involved with Great-Britain and pictured them as the parent country. He introduced the idea of having each colony be independent and have representatives chosen by the people.…

I felt the air brush through my hair as I made the brisk escape from the hellish gates of the John-Smiths High school. I spun round in a quick one hundred and eighty degree turn to try and check if anyone had seen me make my escape or if anyone had been approaching to try and stop my quick climb over the small tattered aluminium fence held loosely by a few loose nails and screws. It seemed that today was going to be one of the few lucky days where my planned escape was going to finally come off. A quick glance to the left and a short one to the right confirmed that my instincts that no one had pursued me were in fact correct.…

Having followed his own words of wisdom, Franklin made an everlasting mark on America since his early days as a printing apprentice. Franklin is a role model I would not mind looking up to because he was a man of morality. This quote has to be one of my favorite quotes to live by; “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise,” (The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin 1791). He lived under his own moral beliefs that inspired many people in his time. Still today his beliefs, also known as his ‘13 virtues,” are looked…

The intensity of his eyes, not only frightened my but it told me a story. He’s as were as fierce as a lion. I remembered his eyes. They showed fear, anger, hurt, strength, and love. He stood over me as to protect me like if I were a princess, worthy of admiration. I sat at the edge of the dock staring in to the deep dark blue waters. As I stared past the water aimlessly, it began to soothe away my anxiety away. I didn’t realize it but I was falling slowly into the water.
