Have you ever ridden a skateboard or a surfboard? If you are thinking no to yourself, than the preferable footwear and clothing are VANS. They are known worldwide for being the biggest skater shoe line. They are comfy and usually rock a cool design they also create friction on the ground while you are skating, so it provides a push on the ground that moves you forward on the board;something all skaters are seeking. There are many companies like Vans, such as Quiksilver and Billabong, but lately those two have not been as popular. But just a while ago, Vans released their 50th year collection which includes a black and red crossbones set, instead the crossbones its candy canes on the shirt and shoes. These are good examples of how famous people can be successful advertisement, because if a person looks up to someone and they see that they have a pair of vans like they will probably go and buy a pair to be just like them. Vans have many great ways of advertising, including using famous people like will.iam, Advrile Lavenie, Owen Wilson, and Zac Efron. Not many celebrities are wearing Billabong or Quiksilver. However, in 1984, Vans filed for bankruptcy. It came out of it in 1986. Then, in 2004, it was purchased by VF. The parent company lets Vans do its own design, sales and marketing. The company has a hands-off approach, it’s easy to forget Vans is not a family owned business, but they are not. But now they are completely back and are celebrating their 50th year
