Informative Speech Steve Jobs

INTRODUCTION
I. Open with Impact
Who in this room owns or has owned any of these products? Just as I thought, the majority of you own at least one Apple product. Without these devices, our lives would be completely different.

II. Connect with Audience
I have an iPhone and I don’t know what I would do without it. It truly is the best phone I have ever had and because of multiple peoples’ creativity I am able to utilize it to its fullest capacity. There is even an app called “Georgie” that helps the blind operate iPhones and iPads by speaking to the user.

III. Establish Impact
We can credit one man, arguably the world’s most important and transformative technology leader, with the creation of these devices.
Steve Jobs, the legendary co-founder and ex-CEO of Apple Inc. tragically passed away last October, but left an undying impression on the way we think about and use technology forever.

IV. Thesis Statement
Steve Jobs was a hero because of his social contributions, and his role in the advancement of technology.

V. Main Points
After extensive research, I have concluded that the three main areas in which Steve Jobs changed technology has been music, the personal computer, and the cell phone.

BODY

Transition: So let’s start with how Steve Jobs left a lasting impression on the music industry. The new millennium was all about a rapid transition to digital content delivery; cassettes and CD’s were quickly becoming obsolete.

I. Music A. iPod
With the introduction of the iPod in 2001, Apple sparked a digital revolution, which allowed consumers to carry thousands of songs on a single small device in their pocket. The iPod was a smashing success, and quickly became a pillar of Apple 's product lineup. As of a study done on September 1, 2010 there are oven 275 million iPods sold since 2001. But the real advantage of the iPod was its integration with iTunes.

The article says, “The key to Jobs’ success is a combination of quality, innovation, and market strategies that were designed extremely carefully” (postcron). He wasn’t the one who actually made the first Apple computer, it was his partner, Steve Wozniak. Steve Wozniak was a great guy because all he cared about was making technology, unlike Steve Jobs whose main goal was to make money. Steve Wozniak also believes that Steve Jobs had some knowledge to make money. Steve Wozniak says, “You really need the vision like Steve Jobs had, but the vision doesn't go anywhere if you try to jump in and build products before they are cost effective for what they do, return on investment is there” (business insider). Steve Jobs looked everything in a different way. He looked at this opportunity as an art and technology combined. For example, swishing with just one finger to see the next page on the touch screen. These innovations shaped our generation's…

Steve Jobs has been labeled a visionary by many, and rightfully so. Though he may not be the tech celebrity that he once was, nor is his name any longer so strongly associated with the basic, commonplace components of software and hardware design that he helped to pioneer and that computer users the world over take for granted, the charismatic, passionately counterculture chief executive officer of Apple Computer was once the most important individual in Silicon Valley and even today dictates the trends and, some would say, overall health of the industry, continuing to drive innovation.…

I remember when I was in Jr. High, and computers were being integrated into the classrooms. As a matter of fact, the class was called Computer Literacy. I also remember that when you would start the computers, they needed a few minutes to “boot up.” We had games such as Lode Runner, and Montezuma’s Revenge. I remember some time later, my parents bought our first computer. I remember my father saying, “I bought you this computer, to help enhance your education, I bought the top notch one.” What kind of computer was this? It didn’t have the same programs as the ones in school did. The graphics were much better, and it seemed to “boot differently. I didn’t have a clue how it really worked. Together with my older sibling, we discovered the different learning platforms our new computer had to offer. I felt as if it was a cornerstone for our learning process, with computers and technology; which I’m sure helped many other kids like us. One thing that I also remember is a big bitten apple as the insignia. It was an Apple computer. Today I would like to share with you, about Steve Jobs, father, husband, inventor, and entrepreneur. Obviously, since a young age, I’ve had a connection with Steve Jobs; which is why I have decided to give a tribute speech on this extraordinary man. Today, I would like to inform you about his life from an early age, and his career accomplishments.…

Unfortunately this man is no more among us and died recently after leaving the post of CEO of Apple Company. His early death and retirement made him the front cover of so many magazines but his contributions were far above this fiasco. He launched Macintosh in 1984 through the plate form of Apple Inc. In the same era he gave the world concept of ‘desktop publishing’ along with laser printer and personal computer networking. He gave new concepts in computer animated films after he was fired from apple at the age of 33. This gave him a new direction and ambition and his comeback was even a greater success story to go down in books.…
