Stereotypes In Psychology
The present day idea and definition of a stereotype is often misunderstood and incorrect. When psychologist use the word “stereotypes,” what they mean is the generalizations people make about another group of people with identical characteristics that are assigned to all members of that particular group (Lecture, 11-17-2016). Stereotypes, when used by psychologists, also means it is a cognitive component in that, people have a knowledge and/or belief that other groups are associated by certain traits.
