For instance, in the western countries, people believe that South Asian women are not competitive in business activities and at workplaces. Their work is restricted to taking care of their children and they do not have the abilities required for doing good jobs. It is also a popular stereotype about South Asian girls that they do not get jobs because they do not speak English. However, these stereotypes are groundless as they are filled with falsity. A survey conducted by Equal Opportunities Commission reflects “Pakistani and Bangladeshi women are more than twice as likely as white British women to be fluent in another language, as well as English”. The people of the western countries, by making these stereotypes common, have triumphed as South Asian women are denied of good jobs and are looked down upon in every aspect of life.
