The young child is nothing but skin and bones from not eating for a week. If there was not a set age for becoming an adult this would be a common scene. The law recognizes an 18-year-old as an adult. If there was not a set age for adulthood, parents could stop caring for their children at young ages. The law requires parents to care for their children up to the age 18. If adulthood was recognized based on maturity, a parent could say their kid was mature at age eight. Yet, the kids aren’t allowed to work until age fourteen. This could leave the kids in starvation, and critical life situations. Therefore, kids become…

For many years statutory rape has been a main issue across the whole United States. There are many different and types of statutory rapes depending on what state it was committed in and exact details of the encounter. Now we do not believe in all types of statutory rape being right because there are all different kinds of them as we have said before. some of them are where innocent minors have been tortured and harmed purposely and we grieve and pray for them, but the ones who allowed it are the ones who we are talking about and are against. They should not be allowed under any circumstances to press charges against the person who did it to them. Sexual assault is the most pressing issue faced by a younger generation that is not being addressed adequately, and while plenty of research is being done, not so much action is being taken. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) “National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), nearly 1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men in the United States have been raped at some time in their lives, and nearly 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men have experienced other forms of sexual violence victimization in their lifetime" (CDC). The problem of sexual assault is terrifying because rather than declining, it has become rampant. However, if people are taught about how horrific sexual assault is at a young and impressionable age, the high rates of sexual assault would decrease significantly. When the Association of American Universities conducted research on sexual assault in universities, the results were shocking. 11% of female…
