Statement Of Purpose: Chief Warrant Officer
In accordance with references (a) through (d), I request a waiver to my High Year Tenure PGP and to be considered for retention.

I have satisfactorily performed the duties and responsibilities of my rate throughout my Coast Guard career, meeting reserve participation standards to the fullest extent possible on a continuous basis. I have faithfully and diligently worked towards advancing my career by competing in the Service Wide Exam since becoming eligible in 2012.

With the prevalence of stagnation in promotion for senior Electronic Technician rated personnel, I investigated alternative paths for retention and advancement in the organization. Through my research only two reserve ELC Chief Warrant Officers’ have received appointment. Desperately trying to discover another avenue, my age became a disqualifier for all other Officer Accession Programs.

While attached to Electronic Support Detachment (ESD) New York I received 24 performance based citations. To put this in another way, these citations represent the esteemed performance in ESD’s leadership which I feel is now my responsibility to bestow onto others. As a senior enlisted service member, I inspire trust and confidence in the subordinates I preside over. During my tenure I have handled crisis such as Super Storm Sandy with the upmost professionalism and calm demeanor. I have effectively motivated my subordinates to exert the effort necessary to attain organizational goals. I implore you to grant me permission to continue so I may attempt to fulfill my passion to aid the service and help
