Statement of Purpose
I am in love with the world. I’m lucky because my whole life thus far has been a mosaic of different cultures and places, which has given me a really open and exposed mind. Being born in Peru, I grew up with the charm of the Incan culture. My ancestors were leaders - unique, smart, and innovative; and I am proud of it. When I was seventeen, I moved to Mexico to get my bachelor’s degree. Even though I went by myself, I was more excited than scared because I was going to experience a new culture, learn new things and make my world even bigger. I spent seven years in Mexico after which I moved to the United States.
In this new country I had to start from zero, so I worked really hard to build a career and become a proud American citizen. The United States has given me a different perspective of the world. I understand my Hispanic culture through my new perspective, I am very proud of it. I have always loved Peru and Mexico, which are third world countries. However, I have a vision now of where can they go and what can they become. I strongly believe that I can be a key element in the evolution of the way these countries think and act, so that they can become as well developed, as America is. To achieve that, I need to prepare myself as much as possible, which is why I am searching for the best education I can get. This led to my choosing your program from among many others. I know your school has a great reputation on international business education, and I want to be part of the program to learn and contribute.
My whole life I had this passion for being a leader. Honestly speaking, I am not a charismatic type of leader - the kind that everybody likes just because they are funny or charming. I am very hard-working, and I always set my goals high, work very hard to get to the top. My mother always told us that even though we were poor, there were no limits to what we could become. That we needed to be brave when facing every challenge
