St George Community Changes
REPORT
Changes In the Community
In the St George Community there have been a lot of changes, this is due to the changes in population, increase in infrastructure, changes to the geographical area and the construction of some new facilities. These developments have occurred due to the changes that happen with people, interests and trends. So as the times change, the things that people are interested in changes, in 1970 you were more likely to go to the park or beach than you were to play on technology. Now you are more likely to play on your phone than you are to leave your house. Also, trends change, so before it was ‘cool’ to go to catch the train to the beach and now it is ‘cool’ to have social media etc. As you can see I my bar graph the most popular reason is because people change. As people get older and new generations move in, peoples’ religion/occupancy/sexuality etc. change. When these changes occur it benefits us because we can associate with people that we have have common interests with. The construction

If your house gains value than you will be happy. The governing body of the St George Area may raise the rates that the people will have to pay so that they can afford the new constructions. The local government may also have to lobby the state and federal government for funding, infrastructure and more facilities.

Conclusion
The changes that have occurred are increase in population (a lot of migrators have occurred and moved to the St George are), new in infrastructure (the construction and upgrading of public transport, buildings and roads), changes to the geographical area and the construction and upgrading of facilities (library and swimming pool). This is due to the fact that people change, interests change and trends

we have a deep, natural need to connect with other people and to belong to a social group. This sense of connection and belonging comes from good relationships with the people around us - in our families, at work or school and with our friends. Since the late 19th Century, City Road and its residents have gone through many changes. We have seen, (The Open University, 2015) and read about, (Blakeley and Staples, 2014) how society has been made and remade, reflecting the wider economic climate. The term ‘making and re-making’ implies that; City road has changed, is changing, and will most likely change again.…

Using figure 4, it is very apparent to me that Wem needs re-branding. The statement “the town hall is vacant” means that important council meetings can be held so no changes can be decided on. The fact that it is vacant shows a lack of interest in the community, which makes it not a very desirable place to live. The next statement from a local businessperson “Too many shops are shut-it’s like a dying place”, is an example of de-population as there aren’t enough people in the area to spend money locally. This creates a lack of jobs which eventually leads to deprivation. People have a low income and usually poor health and housing conditions, so the younger, more qualified people move to where there are jobs (brain drain).…

On Falcon Road like City Road, I am able to see many differences and inequalities between people. It was very interesting to see how Colin the own of a local newsagent was affected because of the opening of Tescos and Spar, how his business had slowed down, as the same happened on my Road. A local newsagent shop where I use to go often after school was affected slightly with the opening of Spar opposite it but after a couple of years it had to shut down when Tescos opened up opposite and took the place of Spar. ‘Some people gain from this reshaping of society….other people lose… It creates new inequalities and differences and it might reinforce existing inequalities and differences’ (Making Social Lives on City Road’, 2009)…

Suburbia was exploding everywhere, even in a small town like Carleton Place. Why live in an older red brick home with your neighbors just a few feet away, when you could buy a nice new home on a bigger new lot near the edge of town? Now it was easier to drive to the mall rather than go into town and deal with parking and less choice. No longer were their dishes of ice cream for a nickle--but the Dairy Queen on the highway satisfied all your…

Culture, common beliefs, sports, births, deaths, celebration, tragedy, reunions, weddings, music and war are all contemporary reasons that would cause mankind to draw closer together. Regardless of age or gender, one can still love a sport. When Steve Jobs passed away, the world mourned. Though tragic, death can bring many people together and teach them not to take everything for granted. Also, recently, the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton brought together many people all across the world – everyone was watching. Of course, war. Though war isn’t really recent, when soldiers died for Canada, people were brought together at the time, they were safer, closer in numbers. Also, protests bring people together to fight for a common belief. In this sense, all the reasons that bring people together and strengthen the ties together are because EVERONE has been affected. When something happens and EVERYONE is affected, it causes people to come closer together.…

Therefore you have an increase in the population where there is now a need for more schools, churches, and other town infrastructure. With these advances there became a more educated population that helped aid in the advancement and growth of new modern thinkers such as Benjamin Franklin and his contributions to the Colonies during the Age of Enlightenment. Due to the growth in population people began settling further and further west encroaching on French and Indian lands causing friction that would later led to the French and Indian…

    Diversity In Polynesia

The diversity of human societies can be attributed to the evolution of human abilities and sophistication. Once humans switched from being wandering nomads to living in small villages, they were able to concentrate on bettering their living conditions and survival rates. Now they were able to explore lands further away and covet both the land and its possessions. The more sophisticated the minds of the human race became, the more they yearned to obtain materialistic things, such as wealth. This creates a divide among people that causes some groups or specific people to be wealthier than others, this separation of class can even be seen today. The desire for power and wealth created the perfect circumstance for differing cultures to encounter…
