By the time I graduated high school, I took 40 credit hours of classes at OSU and had a 3.81 OSU GPA. Despite the tough coursework I found time to partake in numerous extracurricular activities. When I officially joined OSU as a freshman, I joined the small biomedical science major and biological sciences group. When one does come to see that they have been neglecting their body of nutritional needs, they are faced with an ultimatum. The choice to be made is whether to give in to the cheap, and hunger satisfying but inadequate nourishment or to spend a little more for some proper nourishment that your body surely needs. Learning about equality, diversity and rights within this sector has been of particular interest. Working in a health and social care sector involves working alongside people who are of a different race, religion, age, ethnicity and sexuality and it is important to make sure that all individuals are treated fairly. I have also enjoyed learning about nutrition and the principles of healthy eating, and the impact of poor nutrition, for example, on childhood obesity. I feel strongly about promoting good nutrition and am currently planning a healthy eating and cooking session with a group of students who I am working with. This year I have also enrolled for GCSE Biology, which I am studying through a distance learning college, and this has confirmed my desire to study a science based course at a higher level.…

Nutrition was never a route I intended to take. Roughly six months ago, my life went through a whirlpool; I had no clue what I yearned to do & I was in utter turmoil. I previously desired to become a pediatrician, but that firely passion burned out. One day I came across a youtube video of Lisa Lorles, a vegan youtuber. In her video she explained that she was studying nutrition in college and that veganism inspired her to do so. At that very moment something clicked in my mind, I felt butterflies in stomach and a sense of warmth from a fire in my heart. From that day and on I knew that nutrition was my passion and no one was going to stop me. In the back of my mind I always knew that I had a zeal for nutrition. From a young child, I always enjoyed cooking and baking; but did not desire to become a chef.…
