Abstract
Spirituality - The word is more than just following a particular religion or being bounded by thoughts of particular people. It is an art of knowing one 's inner self and the true soul lying inside the materialistic mind. The hustle - bustle in today 's Darwinian workplace needs no formal introduction. Every student seeks to score high and every professional, promotion. All this results into tension, which may lead to poor performances. These are times when spirituality helps. Spirituality is a science of having a control over soul and mind rather than allowing the latter to have control on us. It helps in having a balanced and strong physical, mental and social state. It is to say that apply your spiritual state in every task and it will turn into a milestone. Nowadays meditation workshops, spiritual seminars, music therapy seminars are being arranged at industrial and corporate world too. It gives a chance to them to take a halt and feel the inner peace. Spirituality works like energy for us. It’s not that we cannot survive without it but if we try to gain spiritual knowledge it is always beneficial. It helps in modifying we Human Beings to a Better Being!

In order to explore the differences between religion and spirituality one must attempt to define these terms. However, religion and spirituality are complex concepts not easily or definitively definable; at least not universally. Their meanings have changed over the course of time. At times they have been used synonymously. Yet, at other times religion and spirituality are considered distinct concepts having no overlap. Furthermore, religion and spirituality are sometimes viewed as if one encompasses the other. It seems to simply be a matter of opinion; who is defining religion, when and for what purpose. To compound this quandary, social Science research suggests that lay people, religious and psychological educators and researchers define religion and spirituality inconsistently. This makes it particularly difficult for the scientific world to even compare research findings on religion and or spirituality.…

Marcus Aurelius was born in 121 AD to a wealthy family originally from the province of Hispania Baetica, in the Roman Empire. Known as the philosopher emperor even during his own lifetime, Marcus was a staunch follower of Stoicism, which constantly guided his rule, his administration, and defined his senses of honor and duty. Also considered to be the last of the Five Good Emperors, it was ironic that this Golden Age of Rome ended, or was at least accelerated, by Marcus himself when he ignored his lifelong philosophical creeds of duty and obligation by elevating his son, Commodus, to the rank of emperor, ignoring other more qualified (and less pathologically insane) men.…

Imagine growing up in a home where religion is the basis for everything you do. For instance, your father is a minister which means that you are in church 5 days a week. As you are embossed in this culture, you begin to take on the traits, beliefs and practices associated with it. You are fully immersed into your religion which now becomes second nature to you. You are taught that God helps people in need and looks out for all those who worship him. As you grow older, you believe more and more that your religious practice is what gets you through. You are now an adult and finally have the opportunity to live on your own. You’ve just been hired by a fortune 500 company and you are ecstatic because, it is your belief that God is the reason you were put in that position. As you report in to your first day of work, you realize that it is all you have ever wanted and you pray to thank God for the opportunity that he has provided you. You feel a tap on the shoulder and there is your supervisor telling you that you cannot pray in the office as it is prohibited by company rules. Many of your co-workers see this and they approach you at lunch time. They all feel your pain because they too have been told that due to company policy they also could not practice their religion at work. This is a problem. You realize that growing up in a Utilitarian environment urges you to fix this problem for the greater good of all the people working in this office. Religion should be allowed in the workplace to ensure that all people are afforded the opportunity to worship as they choose, within guidelines. Happier employees make for a better, more productive work environment.…

For centuries, many different cultures have practiced spirituality in the care of people. For many, health is not just about the body, but it is about the mind, body, and soul combined. Even when one is out of balance, the person is unable to have full body wellness and health. I am a firm believer in the balance of the mind, body and soul. As nurses, our main focus is the health and wellness of they body but what many may not realize is by using spiritual care for the mind and soul it can positively benefit the body. For me, I find the whole concept and practice of spiritual care to be extremely beneficial. It is something that can be easily incorporated into the patients care and has proven to show health benefits. Since there are so many different types of spiritual care available, it can easily match with the cultures and beliefs of many patients.…

When looking at religion in the workplace I found that there were two different companies, faith-friendly companies and faith focused. Every company typically falls under one or the other because no company would admit to not accepting individuals who show their faith. Faith friendly companies create a culture in which various faiths aren't just tolerated, they are valued. Faith-friendly entails considering non-Christian religious holidays when scheduling meetings, events, and training, and creating room for employees to meditate or hold small gatherings. The goal of a faith-friendly company is to recognize the centrality of faith in many employees, inclusive, and affirming of all traditions. Similarly, faith focused describes any organization or government idea or plan based on religious beliefs, specifically Christian beliefs.…
