Spintronics devices:
Spintronics are mostly used in storage and memory devices. They have the capability of storing huge quantity of information and can be used as a storage device like hard disk and so on. The procedure employed by the spintronics devices to store data are systematic and structured. Originally, the spin of the electron is utilized to accumulate and write the data in a specific direction (spin “upward” or spin “downward”). Then, the spin of other left out moving electron particles bring the information to a particular end and the information is interpreted at the next terminal. Spin movement, spin lifetime and spin direction of the electrons present in the gadgets are sustained for a lengthy time period which enables spintronics to be more appealing for all the applications including computer memory devices. Firstly, it requires only little energy to alter the spin of the electron which in turn, generates spin polarized current for its operation. It retains the data even after the power shutdown which proves that spintronics devices are not volatile. It provides huge storage capabilities. They can easily influence the spin states of the electrons and set it accordingly and this makes the transfer of information quicker. It does not require any specific semiconductor to operate and hence, it can work with all kinds of materials. It consumes negligible power and dissipates less heat during its function. The processing capability and speed of spintronics devices are comparatively enormous. Further, the size of these devices are small, compact and handy. It is greatly resistant to noise and has a long life span. Therefore, Spintronics technology substantiate itself to be more reliable and noteworthy for the future
