RACISM IT’S JUST NOT FUNNY
We all know it. Racism is bad. We know that making a racist comment in class would probably end up in a visit to the principal’s office.
Racism it’s just not funny. Teasing people because of their skin colour, teasing them because of their religion, teasing them because they come from another country -that’s NOT FUNNY
Racism has ruined other people’s lives. It’s scarred them for life, its not like they would forget and not care. There’s been times when it’s resulted in people overseas looking at us and saying Australia is not A multicultural place - when most of us are not like that.
In the worst cases people have lost their lives because of racism. Millions of jews and gypsies were murdered because of the racist politics of the Nazis. We don’t even have to go back that far. In different parts of the world there is still war and murder and violence because of hatred between different races. Some of these awful racist movements like the Nazi’s and the Klu Klux Klan have used “humour” and cartoons to spread their hateful ideas.
Don’t let anyone tell you that a racist joke is just a joke and doesn’t hurt anyone. To snigger or joke about someone’s skin colour or hair colour or religion or where they come from can be hurtful. Saying it’s just a joke doesn’t make it ok. People right now could be being bullied about these things.
Teasing, bullying, cyber-bullying, leaving someone out because they’re from another country or because they’re skin’s a different colour - These all ways of people being racist to other people.
Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world! We wouldn’t want to change that ever. We should be kind, treat people how you want to be treated, share, accept people into our games if there is a new kid show them around tell them about you. Not be racist.
What will being racist achieve any way? It just ruins people’s lives. I strongly disagree with racism its just a mean and horrible way of
