Space exploration is crucial to new discoveries in science, that will benefit society. Space exploration has changed the world around us by providing an inside look worlds around us, even in our own solar system. The ability to travel through space has given us a new perspective on our solar system, by being able to view how nature works outside of our own planet. Earth is a unique planet. So unique that our technology today has not discovered any other planets or satellites that could sustain human life. The earths atmosphere is composed of about 80 percent nitrogen and 20 percent oxygen however, space exploration might lead to a discovery of a similar planet to escape the depletion of our atmosphere. A lot of people are asking the same question about space exploration these days. Why spend the money on space, when we have so many problems needing money here on Earth? The answer is resources and technology. Space exploration has provided so many new technologies and resources to us on Earth over the years. Without space we would definitely not be as far along in technology as we are today. Space Exploration for a lot of people, provides a different perspective, or view of life. It gives people a real sense of place in our wonderful and large galaxy. Space exploration also provides an understanding of our world and can even help protect the world. NASA has a group known as the Earth Science division that helps us understand how complex and interesting our world is. NASA also studies other planets like Venus and Mars which help us…

Imagine if you could live on a different planet and have more stuff or space. Well you see having a different lifestyle isn’t always good but it could lead to us having another planet. The planet could give us resources that we can rely on like metals such as platinum, copper, iron, and maybe gold if lucky. These resources could build us better houses or have more protection and resistance to the bad weather conditions. Like on Earth we have had many hurricanes that hit the US. The supplies on the different planet could give us a new way to live. We could make more advance houses than what others have. It could also give us better technology that could make us so advance we don’t need to use the expensive oil or gas we can make them more solar powered by using these metals.…

It is unarguable that there are problems here on Earth. From terrorism to health care and the economy, America and the rest of the world have problems that need to be solved. While there are problems here on Earth, the United States should continue to fund space exploration because it contributes to national security, stimulates the economy and leads to further technological advancements. America cannot afford to stop exploring space in an effort to solve other problems. Instead the U.S. needs to take a look at how space exploration is already working to solve those other problems.…

In 1961, the world was changed forever, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin entered the spacecraft Vostok 1 and traveled into space. Following him in the same year, was the American astronaut Alan Shepard in Freedom 7. Then in 1969 the crew of the Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon. This space race in the 1960s helped to light the fire of man’s interest in outer space and has lead mankind to wonder if we could live away from the comfort and safety of planet Earth. Many scientist and explorers have wondered if it would be possible to colonize the Moon or Mars for the purpose of research, resources, and hopefully a secondary home for the human race. However, many people have also doubted the idea of leaving the safety of planet Earth to explore other options of habitable places. Many argue that space exploration is dangerous and some critics argue that it is using too much money that could…

The space race between the United States and the Soviet Union during the 1950’s and 60’s was by far a major landmark in the history of technological achievements for mankind and could, at the time, be considered the pinnacle of human ingenuity. With this in mind, we must understand that the Cold War was a fragile time period full of a plethora of exploration into various scientific fields and political conflict as we pushed the limits of mankind’s inventiveness and the measure of our hatred when we challenged the communist menace, the Soviet…

Space exploration has always been fascinating, and it gives us hope of finding something new. According to the video “Space Race: 20th Century Timeline and Firsts,” “though the idea of space travel was discussed for hundreds of years, the field of rocketry got its first big boost in the early 20th century.” A century ago, space exploration was just a concept or a dream for mankind, but this idea had been accomplished by the developed of powerful rocket which overcome the force of gravity. In the beginning, on March 16, 1926 an American physicist, Robert A. Goddard, launched the first liquid fuel rocket in history. After World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union created their own missile programs. On October 4th 1957, the Soviets launched the first satellite into space. Later on, a national goal of “Landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to Earth within a decade” was set by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 (Space Race). On July 20, 1969, Astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first man walking onto the moon. The space exploration improved for the century, and now the advances of technology have pushed space travel to go further and discover other planets in solar system. However, in order to explore universe in details, many scientists have endeavored very hard to invent more new high technologies. Therefore, with its high technologies, space exploration has a lot of impacts on us today. For example, with the satellite system put up in the space, the weather forecast today has a high accuracy level, and this accuracy has helped in preventing many calamities. Besides the weather forecast, the satellite system also helps people to transmit the news or media all over the world almost instantly. Moreover, the researching space becomes a high paying jobs for many…

We benefit from space exploration by our technological advances. We needed better technology to lift humans above the clouds. For example, we needed a more compact computer for the advanced guiding systems. Vacuum tubes were primitive and computers were the size of rooms. So, we improved the size of the computer to fit space capsules. This, of course lead to the continuous future of computers and made what we use every day.…

We have made much progress on our knowledge about what is beyond our atmosphere. We have put a man on the moon and have educated our society about our universe. We have built an international space station that allows human beings to live outside our atmosphere for years, researching and studying so that we may understand Earth in a much better way. We have learned so much about our world, and a lot of it is thanks to the Space Shuttle Program. It has been very efficient to us for a long time, but times have changed. NASA’s Space Shuttle Program has gone over budget and fallen behind its schedule. It is affecting our economy…

Exploration has taught us about other planet and even more about our planet. Plus, as the author of the article, “Nine Good Reasons for Space Exploration” says, “To be human is to be an explorer.” To me this means that exploring is an instinct to us and we’ll always be interested in space and what’s in it. Even if the program shuts down, people will try to either reboot it or create a similar program because they’ll be interested in space and want to discover more about it. The argument “The Real Reasons We Explore Space” made by Michael Griffin quotes, “Burt Rutan and his backer, Paul Allen, certainly didn't develop a private spacecraft to win the Ansari X-Prize for the $10 million in prize money. They spent twice as much as they made.”(lines 23-26). This quote shows that people do explorations, not because of prizes and glory, but because they get the opportunity to explore something unexplainable and share it with the world. The feeling of wanting to explore space will not be stopped if the space program shuts down, so there’s no point of trying…

First of all space exploration is not worth the cost because it is not worth losing the lives astronauts lives. Even though there are people willing to go to space they can lose their lives while leaving the atmosphere. An example is the 1986 challenger tragedy. There was also another space shuttle tragedy in 2003 the space shuttle Columbia exploded just a few after lift off killing all of the crew members.…

Christopher Columbus theorised that the earth was flat. We later found out that the earth was actually spherical, this was due to significant advancement of astronomy. Such important discoveries, wouldn’t be possible without, NASA, space exploration, advances in technology, scientific findings and a more broadened knowledge of the universe. The illusive idea of travelling beyond our clouds has been around before the first moon landing took place. We know that it is relatively important to explore space because some resources on earth will; soon run out and we may have to rely elsewhere for iron, steel, minerals and other such important products, we humans depend on. Despite the fact space travel is expensive, NASA should continue to be funded to learn about the universe and the world we all live in. Also funding NASA means a boost in technology for the economy and perhaps a dramatic change in restoring the environments function by solar panels and natural substances outside our atmosphere.…

There are many reasons on why space exploration has become a necessity for us, as the amount of money being invest on space exploration, has increased drastically. From 1950’s the amount of money spend was 89 million which was a large sum of money back then. While we move up in the years the amount of money on space exploration increases, for instance in the year 2010 it was the most amount of money spent on space exploration than any other year. A total of 18,724 million dollars has been spending. The process of space exploration is done by taking money and investing in new technology so they can study deeper into space. Certainly exploring space today has its benefits, not only for survival of human life later on, but can also make life on earth more convenient. Space exploration is worth the cost, but not how the money is being spent. Although space exploration is and could be very beneficial, there is no point in spending trillions of dollars a year on technology which is still relatively basic. Space exploration is worth the cost, but not to the extent of spending trillions of dollars a year, for instance spending money in the right area, creating more benefits. Space exploration has the potential to bring together the people of this world, and it has a potential to form a better nation, whether it is by developing more technologies, or to help humans to progress as a species. Space exploration is a commanding operation that will benefit the nation and a more steady economy.…
