In the beginning of this book, it talks about where she came from, which is Taiwan. It also gives you a bunch of background information, like, how her dad was a painter/ photographer, and how he went MIA, Missing In Action, on one of his journeys to paint the Amazon river. Then she had to live with her Aunt Monita who was always trying to get her to be more lady-like, but all she wanted was to be like her father and paint and photograph things that interest her. She does not believe that her dad cannot be found, and she hopes that one day he will come back for her. The day he left for his last trip before he went MIA, he said to her, “Anila, whatever people tell you, know that i am here for you now, and forever. i will always love you and find you. Goodbye Anila.” In his taiwanese accent. But that was three years ago, and she is still waiting.…

Kaicee Yates is a vibrant, hardworking young lady who considers herself an open book. There is very little that people do not know about her. For example, those who know Kaicee know that she fears spider and needles, but roaches, by far, scare her the most. Before attending Middle Georgia State University, Kaicee was a student at Rutland High School in Bibb County. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and even joined a powder puff league with some of them. It was then that she received the nickname, Yatesy. While she is indifferent to the name, the significance of it remains with the memory of her time on the league. Presently, Kaicee works as a waitress one day a week. It is her least favorite job, but it works conveniently with her schedule. Over the years, she has worked as a…

What is heroism? Heroism is typically described with qualities such as courage, bravery, fortitude, unselfishness, or someone who has achieved some fantastic goal or status, or even someone who has accomplished a great task. Heroism consists of always striving to do what is right, rather than what is pleasant, or convenient, or what everyone else is doing. In the stories "Candide" and "The Love Suicides at Amijima," it is proved that almost anyone can be a hero. This is established when people of the so called "middle class" emerge as heroes.…

No matter where Jack goes he is known as a “hotshot” or a “good for nothing” and he hates the fact that is who he is and what he is known as. He dislikes his life and doesn’t know why he does the things he does but it seems like he is almost forced to hang out with the wrong crowd and do bad things because no one gives him the chance to do better. This is the reason that Jack is a self-hating rebel, because he hates the way he is and wants to be better but he can’t be controlled to be something he isn’t.…

Two things that I will most likely learn from the “Life Scenarios” portion of Banzai: Learn to manage my money, and to never spend money on unnecessary, unneeded luxuries when in debt. The “Life Scenarios” section was very informative, but I noticed that the character that was being portrayed often made poor choices with their money. One example of this is when the person went out to breakfast and spent a large amount of money when they barely had any money to spend. From this I learned that whenever I don’t have money I need to make better choices. This has shown me to also manage my money because the character most likely didn’t notice that they did not have a large enough sum of money when they spent it…
