SOP Mechatronics 2
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
There has never been a moment in my life when the wonders of engineering have not fascinated me, and this is largely responsible for the career that I have decided to pursue, and since I have doctors for parents, many would traditionally claim that the 'odds' stacked up against me. Right from my early childhood, I had a keen interest in Technology and Inventions. I distinctly remember my 6th birthday present- a set of VISUAL ENCYCLOPEDIAS. I made it a point to read one section of any topic daily. This helped me nurture my knowledge and curiosity in science and technology. My patience and perseverance helped me to achieve a steadily growing academic profile.
I appeared for my High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) from Little Flower School and scored the 30th rank in the state. This helped me to make it to Cotton College, a premier institute of North-East India, serving for over a hundred years now. My time in Cotton College helped me decide my field of interest. The next phase was to face the fierce competition in the
Engineering Entrance examinations and with my diligence and hard work, I secured a rank of
3939 among 100,000 candidates in the entrance exam for Manipal Institute of Technology, a renowned Institution offering world class academic exposure in the field of Engineering and
Technology. I was also awarded a merit based scholarship by All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE) for my performance. Over the four years of my study, securing a competitive
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 8.10 on a 10 pt scale, through my consistent performance helped me maintain my scholarship.
At Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), I chose MECHATRONICS as my stream of study. Mechatronics was not just a conglomeration of words Mechanical and Electronics for me.
For me, it was more of a field unexplored. During my time at MIT, I enjoyed my courses and especially the laboratory classes. MIT gave me an excellent platform to shape my career
