When having no one to turn to, these lyrics tie into my thesis. “Take these sunken eyes and learn to see, all your life you were only waiting for this moment to be free.” They cannot see a solution to their problem. The eyes are sunken because the person is worn out and tired of the way they have been feeling and want to "learn to see" or find out a way to help themselves. When saying you are ‘waiting to be free’ is referring to when you take your sunken eyes and learn to see, there will be freedom waiting for you, you live for that moment.
Lastly, the lyrics, “Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly. Into the light of the dark black night” connect to my thesis because it is about a person trying to overcome struggle. It is about a person letting go of everything holding them back, anything that is holding them in that dark tunnel. They need to find the light and be free. The light in the dark black night is the hope that a person must always see. By repeating ‘blackbird fly’ one after another tells me to never give up. If someone is looking for the light at the end of the tunnel, there is always a positive outcome to any situation
