Socratic Reflection
Ryan, I agree; I think these activities will take time, and I am pretty sure that since most of my students are struggling academically, I will have to make adjustments while teaching this unit. Also, to ensure that the students are reading the text, the students will read most of the book in class.

Adam, thanks for the suggestion: I think you're right about adding Socratic seminars within my unit. Some people learn best through discussion, and this strategy is another way to ensure that I am meeting my students' learning preferences.

In Socratic Seminar, I led the class first time doing Socratic Seminar it showed me how to lead a group and take control. While in S. Seminar It showed there's more to a story and just reading the story once isn’t understanding it you need to read it more like three times to really get the full meaning of the story or it’s just a waste of time to read the story and you get no actual meaning out of it. It most of all showed me I have good ideas and I need to share them with the group because they might be help the group because there might be a clue I have realized that will help answer a question but I don’t say anything. While doing S. Seminar. I also realized if you keep repeating the same idea over and over you can never get anywhere. And the biggest thing I found was you need to stay on topic in S.…

The first paper that we had to write was a literacy narrative, it didn’t need any research but we had to remember a time that made our reading or writing experience memorable. Our second paper that we had to write was a Cause and Effect Essay, we had to do a little research to get information. I chose to write about stress and how it can affect academic success. Our third paper was a Persuasive Commentary, this one I chose to write about volunteering. The goal for this paper was to give information to people about how volunteering can better your life especially the youth. I will be providing you with information of my strengths and weakness in…

My partner, Jude, and I were partners and we decided to observe the volleyball game at the gym. While watching the game, there was a group of PNUan girls that caught my attention. So I decided to let them be the subject of my observation. That group of girls was really wild and loud as opposed to the rest of the audience watching the game. They shouted and cheered for the PNU team. Whenever the team scores, they stood up and cheered at full volume. They even had this jingle that goes like this “ P-N-U FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! ” and sometimes mentioned a name of one of the players. But, I noticed that when the game started to reach its climax, those girls booed the opposing team every time they scored .…
