Overview of Visit:
1. Introduction to the tour.
We welcomed our geust speakers ????? and ????. They were chosen as representatives for St.Vincent de Paul (SVP) . The talk was held in B14 in front of the joined Link Modules classes. ????? began the talks by describing the history and what the charity does. They outlined the services they provided aswell as the span of control and the different conferences in each community. ????? then described what types of volunteers were needed and the stages of training that they needed to go through. We then had a questions and answers session where we extracted alot of helpful and informative information about the company.

2. Charity History.
The Society of St.Vincent de Paul (SVP) was started in paris by a twenty year old student Frederic Ozanam and a few friends on April 23rd 1833. Robert Orsi’s book, Thank You, St. Jude: Women's Devotion to the Patron Saint of Hopeless Causes, chronicles Jude’s Thaddeus’s story and the specific appeal of this Saint of Hopeless Causes to the Catholic women in America. Furthermore, the book illustrates the major religious events that happened in the mid-twentieth century. St. Jude, who was a virtually unrecognized figure before 1929, captured the earnest and faithful consecration of millions of women in various ways. Therefore, the reading raises the question what the then-incomprehensible Saint Jude offered the Catholic refugees’ offspring, who were making their way into America for opportunities. Orsi’s book explains the events that prompted the cult of St. Jude in early 1929, its popularity…

They were other great speeches about the new contexts of working as a 24 hour dentist and the need to brace for the challenges in the future. Mrs. Martins had the skills and ability to captivate his audience attention by supporting her speech with several examples. She emphasized on the causes of ill health issues many people, especially, older people encounter as they age, as well as the difficulties their family members faces. Her story captured many of the audience, including me. Also, many the audience was in shock of a video she showed off a nurse brutally maltreating an elderly person, I must say that part got most of the audience to shared tears. This part of her speech was the best. Furthermore, Mrs. Christiana did an excellent job by keeping her address on track and I was so proud of her. She gave a great speech, there was nothing more anyone could have expected. However, Even though, Mrs. Martin’s speech was excellent, the only tricky part was that her speech lasted very long, the program was supposed to end at 5oclock, but it finally ended at 7oclock pm. From the look on people’s faces, you could see that they were feeling exhausted. However, there were plenty of food, drinks and gifts served. Therefore, people never left with an empty…

Our group chose St Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center for many reasons. On the surface, it was an easy group to research. From the beginning of the project our group showed interested in learning more about a certain religion. St Stephen's was not only an easily accessible resource in location and inside connections, but also one that was known to be very accepting and understanding. It also tends to deviate from the usual Catholic norms, which presented a unique opportunity of study for those of us who knew very little about Catholicism and for those who had had experience with other Catholic churches. St Stephen had a wide variety of events at different times throughout the week to accommodate our separate schedules. It was an organization that satisfied the needs and interests of the group, but also served a greater purpose.…
