About Us
Nakumatt supermarket is the leading supermarket in East Africa. Established in 1987, we have shaped and built our business on our founding principles of providing a variety of affordable, quality brands as well as excellent and superior service to our customers. Our formats include convenience stores, supermarkets and hypermarkets. We serve 200,000 customers per day and offer a range of over 75,000 products.
As Nakumatt holdings, we passionately believe in active social engagement with customers and our environment, and we have ensured it constitutes a care part of our business. We continue to spearhead various community development projects in health, entrepreneurship, sports, culture, environment, education and urban restoration.
We have worked hard to build social relationships with our customers, employees, suppliers, corporate partners and with the East African community at large. This has contributed to our impressive roll of honour, which includes prestigious and coveted local and international accolades.
Our mission is to create a chain of superstores in strategic locations delivering quality, value, service, variety and lifestyle, with convenient opening hours giving everyone the opportunity to shop at Nakumatt.

Nakumatt stakeholders have increased influence on our businesss activities as community citizenship and social responsibility have been consistently integrated into our business management. Customers, employees, communities and business partners are among our key stakeholders groups that carry weight in Nakumatt decisions and activities.
Customers and Community
Nakumatt customers have taken over as a central influence for our business. This is not because Nakumatt do not want to maximize profits, instead, it is because they have generally recognized that satisfied customers and long-term
