Thesis Statement: If you quit smoking, you will live a healthy life.

General Purpose: To inform
Strategy for Presenting Content: Problem Solution
Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience that breaking the habit of smoking is the right way to go because smoking is harmful to the individual personally as well as being harmful to others around you.

Introduction: Did you know that smoking is the most preventable cause of disease and premature death in America? Each year, an estimated total of 430,000 Americans die from smoking-caused diseases. That is more than any other deaths in the world combined. This is why you must quit smoking for good. If you quit smoking, you will live a healthy life. Breaking the habit of smoking is the most important thing on your mind right now because it is part of taking care of your health, but it is also part of taking care of your family. I will cover the basic problems of smoking, the reasons why smoking affects others just as yourself, and what you can do to quit smoking once and for all.

Body: Smoking can cause problems at any way possible.
1. The effects of smoking.
a. Short Term (external body problems). Long Term (internal body problems)
Transition Statement: Smoking affects others just as well as yourself.
2. Secondhand Smoke.
a. Affects non-smokers greatly (about 3,000 deaths every year)
Transition Statement: The time is now to quit smoking permanently.
3. Why and now you can quit smoking.
a. Tips, thoughts, and reasoning (get all the help you need no matter how you do it).

Conclusion: To conclude, this is why you must quit the habit of smoking for good. As mentioned in the beginning, smoking not only affects yourself, but affects the lives of many others personally whether smoking or non-smoking. You must quit smoking because stop for a minute and think about how your future is going to be if you continue to smoke time after time. How will you deal
