My Smart Phone Purchase

The competition among the smart phone brands in the Malaysian market is getting stronger day by day. When I decide to buy a smart phone, many choices out there with various options and features, many factors and limitations narrow it down to one. Comparing and deciding process leads to the final choice. The personal factor influenced the purchase decision the most.
The main two specifications I’m looking for in the smart phone are: having dual sim, and the price within budget (600-700 RM). Since I was looking for dual-sim device, iphones and HTCs were knocked out (beside the higher prices generally). Accordingly, my search limited between Samsung and local brands. Then, after I consider my limited budget, I searched for mid range category; the search narrowed down to two devices available in the market. From Samsung products I choose Ace Duos, while from local brands I choose Ninetology Stealth II i9500. In order to come out with a decision, I should choose between these two items considering many factors.
The 1st choice is the Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802, have a 3.5” screen, 5MP camera, 3 GB storage, 512 MB memory and a 832 MHz CPU. It is average price in the market is 650RM. While the 2nd choice is the Ninetology Stealth II i9500, have a 5” screen, 8MP camera, 3 GB storage, 512 MB memory and a 1 GHz CPU. It is average price in the market is 700RM. Various personal factors influenced my smart phone purchase. First, my personality played a major role in influencing that purchase. I may describe myself as a humble, spiritual, friendly, sociable, active and energetic person. Such characteristics seek a durable, small size and reliable phone, which is founded in the Ace Duos much more than the Stealth II.
Second, as my life style seems to be simple and not looking for luxurious items; I don’t have willing to spend much on my outer look. So, I accept the small

The first thing I want compare the Apple iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S II are the designs of it. The Samsung Galaxy 2 weighs just 116g, and its dimension is 125x66x8 mm. The Apple iPhone 4s weighs 125g, and its dimension is 115x59x9 mm. Both the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy S II look elegant and chic. If compared on good-looks, the Samsung Galaxy S II is marginally better with remarkable thinness. In addition, the Galaxy S II is also lighter than the iPhone 4S (117 grams versus 140 grams), but its structures is longer and wider. This is quite understandable because Samsung uses less metal in the Galaxy S II design. Therefore, if you try to hold both of them, iPhone 4S will feel more steady. The second thing we want to compare is the screens of Galaxy S II and iPhone 4S. The screen of Samsung Galaxy S II is 4.27-inch, 800 x 480 px and has a 218ppi, Super AMOLED Plus and iPhone 4S is 3.5-inch, 960 x 640 px, 326ppi, LCD. Apparently, the screen of the Galaxy S II is bigger than apple iPhone 4S. If you put the two smartphones side by side, you'll see the difference that the Galaxy S II allows surfing and watching movies with the 4.27 inch screen. One of the most important features is the 4.3-inch WVGA AMOLED screen S2 Galaxy Super Plus. It is one of the brightest things I’ve ever seen. The screen of iPhone 4S is great, but the screen of Galaxy S II is greater. Another thing, we compare little bit about processor of it ( the Samsung Galaxy S II…

Samsung Electronics (Mobile Division) operates in one of the most competitive markets of the world. According to the US Federal Communication Commission 67 new Smartphone devices are introduced every year. Samsung traditionally had a conservative image that focused on low-price products for the lower end of the market. With low prices it was able to compete in the lower-market whereas in the upper market it had lesser penetration. To penetrate the upper-market Samsung had to give up their lower-market position and focus on innovation and perceiving a higher brand value. The following is the STP Analysis of Samsung Mobiles:…

This is done by analyzing their statisfaction level towards their current mobile communication device based on factors that the writer have determined beforehand. The data are gathered using questionnaires that are distributed to young adults and adults who are currently using at least one of the three most popular mobile communication devices in Jakarta: Blackbery, iPhone, and Android. The methods used to gather the data has consisted of primary research, Questionnaires were created which held 20 questions, around 149 questionnaires were handed out to the public of ages 16-25. A range of open and closed questions where used within the questionnaire to gain qualitative and quantitative information from the users. The open questions provide a deeper understanding of what the user wants and how they want it; this is more relevant to the interviews which have been done on different people, “To the qualitative researcher it is the nature and content of what is said- its meaning – rather than the number of people who say saying it” (Jankowicz, 2005, p.123) qualitative information is a very powerful form of getting into the users mind, it identifies how users think and why they think which is a big part of identifying what influences people between 16-25 to buy a mobile phone. Closed questions provide statistical data, which helps source a correlation of data; this identifies trends and other factors that help analyse the data which has been gathered. Secondary research has been gathered to provide a comparison of data and an understanding of what other users have found out about purchases of mobile phones from users of 16-25 and what influences them to make certain purchases. “Quantitative methods allow us to accept or reject these hypotheses in a logical and consistent matter” (Ghauri, Gronhaug, 2002, p.86) this helps identify what data should be accepted and whether the data is significantly different when compared to any original data. It helps identify any links between data which will further develop the answer of what influences 18-25 year olds to purchase a mobile phone.…

In this descriptive survey, a questionnaire with 57 questions was used to gather required data. In total, 385 questionnaires were analyzed. SPSS and LISREL were used for descriptive and inferential analysis of data and hypothesis test based on confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling.
