During the 20th century China underwent a massive transformation. In the early 1900s China was a mass of land lacking any real political cohesion and so was plagued by disputes between the many ruling warlords. However, by the year 2000 China was considered a major contender on the world stage and still is today; it almost seems certain that China will become the most powerful nation on earth in the next 50 years. This major transformation is seen to be a great success of China, considering the relatively short amount of time in which it was accomplished, but the question still remains as to whether entire credit should be given to China itself or instead whether China’s successful development was more due to the forced interference of foreign powers or, to a lesser extent, their influence rather than the inspired originality of Chinese politicians. The main stimulus for development certainly seems to be economic policy (either the respective leaders of China in their adaptation of foreign policy, sometimes brought about through influence, or the forced implementation of policy by foreign powers) with the consequent effect of this being development of the social and political workings of China.…

The Three-Toed Sloth, one of nature's most peculiar animals, offers a lot for humans to learn from them. In life, we tend to live as fast as possible. We make very quick decisions, and can be very indecisive at times. As humans, we want to live fast. Faster phones, faster cars, faster food, and even faster people seem to be the most wanted and famous in their respective fields. People who don’t like to live fast are considered lazy, slobs, and stupid for not wanted to live like the rest of the world. On Earth, most everyone lives in the left lane. But if we just slowed down, maybe we could live like the peaceful sloth. If you take it slow, and think before you act,…

China is becoming a great economic superpower because of its large economic growth rate. The past two decades, China 's economy has grown at an average annual rate of more than 9% (Fishman, 2005, pg. 117). But the economic cost of environmental harm, growing inflation, and a slowing economic growth rate, China economy may not obtain the highest economic rank on the world stage. China was on the right track to becoming the next economic superpower but I think that pollution, inflation, and the income disparities between the urban and rural people are disrupting its economic growth and brought China into a depression.…

China’s influence in the world economy was minimal until the late 1980’s but we are now seeing China being one of the most independent countries and leading the manufacturing producing market. China started with a fragile economy with minimal infrastructure from frequent revolutions and invasions in 1949. In the early 1980’s, China’s economy was still extremely weak as a result of its inward looking government system of a socialist planned economy under the Mao government. This resulted in living standards below world averages and economic growth at nearly zero. China has risen from the edge of economic obscurity to lead the world in terms of economic growth, and this is done is just over a quarter of a decade. The People’s Republic of China has transformed from a planned economy into a socialist market economy and is now the world’s second largest economy to the USA being number one, by nominal GDP at $7.3 trillion and by purchasing power parity (PPP). “Pay attention to what’s going on in China. “ – Jeff Mbanga – The Observer.…

    Decline Of Primacy

The U.S. has maintained its power and influenced in the world for a long history, and it established the fact that the U.S. is the most effective and powerful country in the world in every field of the international affairs such as politics, economy, and military. Its military expenditure is far greater than that of other states and is approximately 50% of the world military expenditure, even though the new emerging great powers like China try to achieve the U.S. military capability and have been investing their military (Lieber, 2011). Moreover, one of the rising powers, China, has drastically grown its economy and has expanded its production nationwide. Its products are, for example, available in any parts of the world, and people can buy them so easily. As a result, China acts as a leader of the Third World, insofar as other new great powers such as BRICs countries have been also developing gradually (Best et al, 2008). However, some international relations analysts argue that the emergence of the new great powers is not so fast enough to overcome the US primacy and cannot achieve the U.S. economically at this stage. The fact that China has been developing its economy so fast is not because China has gained a power to defeat the US economy, but because China has a huge population. Because of the huge population in China, its economy gets bigger.…

On the face of it, China seems to have cracked the code for success but that’s not all true. Countries won’t acknowledge the failures they made, and China is of no exception. Instead they hide their mistakes under the light of their successes. Failures that China are and is still making is the discrimination of women and constant disregard of the constitution. In order to cover up such failures, the Chinese focus their media on the successes of the unexpected improvement in Chinese exports and their raise in wages. China, as well as the rest of the world, still have a long way to go to reach their ultimate goal despite their successes.…

China is also the world’s second biggest exporter of goods and services, with 2012 exports totaling over $2 Trillion USD. Their trade surplus is $322 Billion (CIA Factbook). When one considers the fact that China is still classified as a communist country, these economic indicators become even more impressive.…

Kimberley 1 China's importance in the world is profound, and steadily growing. Its position as a world power is well asserted, and already has many trademarks of a superpower. China's position as a future superpower is an important topic to examine due to China's vital position in the global economy, and is a worthy contender for economic relations and military alliances of other world powers, and it is a nation from which other countries can learn a great deal. There are many great powers in the world, but “superpower” is a title typically reserved for the United States. The term “superpower” can be attributed to a country that holds great influence in the world and has the power to protect and assert this influence.1 therefore, in this regard, China can be considered a superpower as a result of its booming economy and vast military. The main factor that arouses controversy about whether or not China is a superpower is its political system. Despite China's lack of a contemporary western style democracy, it is very powerful politically and despite the issues with human rights, the government is able to successfully control the people with a high approval rating. Additionally, being a member of the United Nations Security Council, it has international influence. Through its economic influence, military force, and politics, China will be the world's next superpower. The most prominently known attribute of China's presence as an emerging superpower is its economy. China currently has the second largest Gross Domestic Product in the world.…

China, a predicament of social injustice, has been debated upon its coercive form of government over decades now, by eminent scholars and experts, who have been discussing about China’s future in their everlasting debates regarding the stand China will ultimately have to take in the coming decades. The fact that makes China as such a controversial subject in the world is because of its combination of its incomparable history, though it initially followed the footsteps of the USSR, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) overthrew the Kuomintang (KMT or nationalist) regime under Sun Yat-Sen in 1949 and on the other hand, its ceaseless growth in its economy since the last three decades. This anomalous coupling has placed the citizens as well as the rest of the world in a dilemma as to where will China’s future eventually lie. The whole world is aware of the approaching reality that this country is in grave need for major policy changes in terms of political and economical reforms to survive in harmony. Lately, the inclination of the change in political system, from a communist state to a democratic state has shifted its course from the impossible to maybe possible. The constituents such as the social unrest due to various factors, environmental issues and the ever-widening income gap have enclosed the arguments and a dawn has broken off in a country where the possibilities were going negative.…

Willpower always has a success shower. Tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal, it lies in not in having a goal. We must not look at our past mistakes but be courageous and keep moving ahead. Success is nothing but one happiness when we fulfill our desires. Most of the men have not achieved their destination by having some talent or opportunity presented that was at hand. Fortune favours the brave. Many people who have waited for the luck to help them have won and those who did their hardwork by themselves had lost. It happens, but one shouldn’t loose hope as rightly said “Failure is the stepping stone to success.…
