Sleuth: Eye and High Heeled Shoes
It was about 10:00 at night at6 my office. It was so quiet I could hear my self thoughts bouncing off the wall and back to me, in other words it was too quiet. I began to rumble on to myself about the case I didn’t write a report on. So I grabbed my pen and started to write my report, Until a Woman walked into my office. She was about 5 feet tall wearing a red dress with a flower in her head and her high heeled shoes were about 4 inches tall. She sat on my desk and just starred at me I was writing a report about the murder of Donald Johnson. “May I help you?” I said being curious of her being right in my personal bubble. “Oh I’m sorry my name is Scarlet Robinson and I need a case solved for Me.” she looks at photo and put it back in her purse. She softly chuckle and tears started running down as she look at me and smiles. “Ma’am I understand your situation but I need you to be specific as if you witnessed it all yourself “. She put a picture of her, a man, and a little girl blowing a bubble on my desk and hops off my desk and points at both the girl and the man. I pause and then slowly look up at her and I softly said “what happened to them?” she looks up at me and said “I have no idea” She looks at the picture and looks at me with her teary eyes and said” I need you to find them and bring them back to me please”. All I could do is keep hugging her and kept saying “everything is okay”. She smiles at me gives me the personal information about on my desk and struts away. I can’t be sure that they’re okay. But I can hope. The next morning I see Scarlet come back to my office and said “I found some suspects! Look at these!” She slams the 5 pictures with their résumé on them. “Scarlet. I can’t just arrest people for being suspicious “.She starred at me with a discrete look and slapped her hand on the desk and her face started to glow redder than the dress she came in my office

Furious, I rip months of work off my apartment wall. The yellowing paint comes off as I fling the paper across the room. I’d been on this case for so long, and yet, I was still at square one. I pace the small room trying to figure out what I was missing. There was one piece of the puzzle that just didn’t fit. I walk over to the small desk and scan through the police files. The killer used the same M.O. but nothing connected the victims.…

Whilst working a shift in a residential home, I became acquainted with an elderly lady in her eighties. She had been a widow for many years and had no children. She was a very quiet, private person, who didn’t like showing her feelings, being made a fuss off or being hugged. She had lived in the home for about five years. The only visitor that Mrs B had was an elderly man, a friend of her husband. He would come and visit every Monday and have afternoon tea with her. They would reminisce and Mrs B looked forward to his visits. One Monday the elderly gentleman did not arrive and Mrs B thought it was unusual. The following day we had a message that the elderly man had been found dead at home. I was asked to tell Mrs B.…

I rushed out of my last class and made a beeline to my old hideout. As I started collecting my belongings I could hear the blaring of police sirens. I dropped everything and headed towards the main entrance. Glancing out the window I could see a very large crowd and at least a dozen police men. I sat with my hand on the door handle debating whether I should join the crowd or head home. After the longest 5 seconds of my life I swung the door open and rushed into the crowd of students. As I got closer and closer to the front of the crowd I could hear the screams of a boy. I still couldn’t see what was going on so I dropped to the ground to see between student’s legs. What I saw caused me to turn completely numb. There in the center of the courtyard stood IT. He has handcuffed and held back by three police men. I slowly crawled my way to the side to see the rest of the scene. As soon as I moved I regretted it. Lying on the ground, enclosed by a pool of blood and a long knife in there abdomen laid Rachel. I jumped to my feet and shoved my way to Andy Evans. The officers held me back as I kicked and screamed. I couldn’t control myself and the next thing I knew I was slowly falling to the…

When I returned to the police department it seemed I had a new case, a celebrity died. Walking on to the scene I saw a tarp and recognized that it was covering the body. I searched the area for traces of a weapon and saw none. “What wounds did the body have?” I asked another officer “No external injuries, we’ll have to wait for an autopsy.” I then searched the room again and found a piece of irregularly shaped paper, all black on one side and completely blank on the other. Taking it with me I left to go home to wait on…

At 4am dispatch received a call from the resident at 137 West Alexander Drive, who claimed to have heard a scream from his neighbours house. Captain Jason Long turned the case over to Officer Brice Tyler, Officer Lily Rayne, and I. At approximately 4:30am we arrived at the house knocking on the door. The young man answered with a smile on his face. I had noted that he seemed wide awake, as if he had been up for some time, as he invited us inside. We told him of our cause of being there, and he immediately told us the old man was visiting his sister in another town. He did not give us more details. instead, he showed us that the old mans belongings were exactly in there proper place. Afterward, he asked us to sit down in the bedroom, chatting easily about his evening. Soon after, he seemed to become agitated, raising his voice and speaking angrily. He was soon pacing and hitting the table, threatening us to make us stop agonising him, even though we did not say a threatening word to him.…

I glance at it and see my wife’s picture on the screen. She never calls me at this time, so I immediately answer. I hear two different cries on the other side of the line. “I need you to take a deep breath and tell me what’s going on. Are you guys okay?” My heart sank to the pit of my stomach. “Maddy’s toe is falling off! I need you to meet me at the emergency room! We’re on our way there now!” my wife sobbed. “I need you to calm down. Is she okay? I’ll meet you guys there.” I responded. I hung up the phone. My girls needed me. My little girl is in pain and all I can hear was her crying out for me in the background. I grabbed my keys and ran out the door. I called another manager to come in on my way to the hospital, but I couldn’t wait for them to get there. I had to get to the hospital. The emotions were all over the place, but I had to stay positive for my girls. “Everything will be okay”, I whispered to myself as I entered the…

I was working on the last bit of paperwork for the kidnapping case I had just solved, when I received a call. I was informed that I was on a new case and needed to start as soon as possible. I quickly finished up the paperwork and went to look at the case files. It was mostly empty, with just the newspaper article, photos of Elizabeth, and little bit of information about her. I decided that I should head straight to the crime scene to gather all the evidence that I could. When i got to the scene, I noticed Elizabeth laying in a pool of her own blood with bullet wounds to the chest. There was blood all over the carpet as well as footprints heading out the door. While collecting evidence throughout the apartment I collect four different fingerprints,…

It was a surprisingly warm night during the summer. Everyone in the house was sound asleep in their rooms except for me. I was watching a show on the laptop in my room when out of nowhere I hear a bone chilling scream from the neighbor’s house next door. Before I knew it I was out of bed putting on my shoes to see what was happening. When I opened the front door I saw a bunch of other neighbors turning on porch lights to see what was going on too. What I saw next I could never un-see, it was the sweet old man that lived next door crouching over his blood stained wife. The problem with this image though is what he didn’t do. He wasn’t crying over her body in sorrow, nor was he standing in shock, instead his face was covered in blood and…

It was a cold Monday, 4th September, and it was raining, I remember a taxi was parked right at the disco, where later on I heard a big fight were going on with a great lost of good and innocent people. At that time I didn’t know that something was going to happen and I just walked by the disco without even entering or checking to see if something was wrong. I can also remember a strange man, who was smoking outside the disco and speaking in the phone about some delivery and he mentioned a warehouse. I didn’t want to be a part of anything so I just took my keys out of my pocket and was going towards my car, when I heard a gunfight, suddenly out of nowhere a strange shadow was firing shots at that man with the cigar and the phone, while he couldn’t make it to a place to hide, he was shot in the heart and head. I was hiding behind a container and hoped that the murderer didn’t see me. Suddenly a cat was walking by my side and knocked of a can from a table-looking thing, and made a noise that the murderer reacted to. He was running towards me, but I jumped into my car and in reverse, I got away by luck. Anyway, somehow I knew he would come back. It was just a matter of time. I got home later that night and was hiding out at home, when I came up with the idea to call my best friend who was a detective, one of the best in town, and wanted to hire him to find out what happened, and if I were in danger. I felt at that time that something was wrong, because he’s voice was different. He sounded…
