Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay: a Nature Lover’s Paradise
‘Gardens by the Bay’ is one of the main attractions of Singapore that has been developed recently and a few parts of the garden are still under developing phase. It is a nature park developed adjacent to the Marina Reservoir by the government of Singapore to change the Singapore city from the “Garden City” to “City in a Garden”. It is a huge group of gardens spread across 250 acres of reclaimed land situated in the central Singapore.
It comprises of three beautiful and unique waterfront gardens: Bay East Garden, Bay South Garden and Bay Central Garden. Bay South Garden is the largest of the three occupying almost half of the total area of 130 acres. Irrespective of the size, each of

Bay South and Bay East. Bay Central Garden covers 37 acres of the total area of the park with a 3 km long waterfront promenade that offers a wonderful view of the Singapore city. It starts from famous city centre and extends upto the eastern part of Singapore. It is still not fully developed and there are many proposed works that would be completed soon in the next few years to follow.
Bay East Garden-Famous Garden of the City
Bay East Garden is the smallest of the three occupying 32 acres of land offering a 2 km long waterfront promenade along the Marina Reservoir. One of the key elements of Bay East Garden is the interim park developed in support of 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. The garden was opened for the public for the time in October 2011. Bay East Garden consists of a series of large tropical leaf-shaped gardens exhibiting variety of landscapes.
Each of the gardens is unique in design, character and theme. There are five water inlets to be developed for this Garden, which are designed to flow along with the direction of wind. One of the main purposes of these water inlets is to keep the area cool and make it pleasant for the visitors.
