RECOMMENDATION REPORT:
MOBILE PHONES
The purpose of this report is to help Smith Courier Service, Inc., select a mobile phone that provides the requisite functions to accommodate its business needs. In researching mobile phones it is best to select a service provider first, such as Verizon or T-Mobile because mobile phone functions vary from service provider to service provider. For example, Motorola has several versions of the popular RAZR:
RAZR (original)
RAZR V3 (T-Mobile/Cingular)
Mobile RAZR V3c (Verizon)
RAZR Magenta (T-Mobile) [2; 3].
Each model has different features, but not all features can be used depending on the service provider’s capabilities.
The Mobile RAZR V3c (Verizon), for example, has different functions than the RAZR V3 made for T-Mobile. Namely, the features on the RAZRV3c are more robust than those of the RAZR V3, but the RAZR V3c’s functions may not be available for use with T-Mobile service. However, even if models are the same, their functions might differ, depending on which service provider you choose. So, before buying a mobile phone, it’s wise to select the service provider first and then the phone.
Options for Mobile Phones
Two phones made available by T-Mobile were chosen for this comparison: (1) the V3 and (2) the T-809. They were chosen because these two phones represent the latest technologies available with T-Mobile service. In addition, these phones are very similar both in style and function, making them good candidates for comparison. The T-809 has a MP3 player, while the RAZR V3 does not, but for this comparison, that is not a discriminating feature. Instead, the comparison focuses on those features useful to businessmen and women [3; 4]
T-Mobile offers the following features for both phones: (1) Voice mail, (2) caller ID, (3) conference calling, (4) call forwarding, (5) call waiting, (6) call hold, (7) built-in paging, and (8) access to 411 [2]. Consequently, these features will not be compared.

This complex migration will be expensive, risky, and seamless. Customers of T-Mobile and Metro PCS have incompatible networks. Meaning, no two phones from either company can operate on one single network. This infrastructure obstacle could hamper a successful outcome and leave investors, and executives blowing in the wind. Back in 2005, Sprint and Nextel merged under similar circumstances and ultimately failed. It was considered one of the…

T-Mobile is one of Verizon Wireless’s biggest competitors. Currently Verizon is ahead of the curb with its free video chat option while T-Mobile does not offer this for its family plan. Currently T-Mobile only offers one family plan which limits consumer options. With the added video chatting, Verizon Wireless will provide consumers and future customers with added options to its current selections of family plans. T-Mobiles current family plan limits its customers and does not allow them to even consider adding video chatting.…

In my area T-Mobile offers a few plan options. The various nationwide T-Mobile rates/plans available in my area are the 1 GB plan for $50.00 a month, the 3 GB plan for $60.00 a month, the 5 GB plan for $70.00 a month and the Unlimited plan for $80.00 a month. While T-Mobile states these plans are offered in my area, this is somewhat untrue. After checking their coverage map it shows that coverage is limited at my home. The surrounding area is 4G, but only on my property does it state that they have no coverage. This is an important factor to know whether or not I am going to be able to use my phone in my home.…

Verizon’s large coverage area and 4G advancements come at a price. Verizon’s plans tend to be more costly than their competitors. Also Verizon’s current 3G network is based on CDMA technology, it cannot handle calls and data at the same time. This is a major drawback when dealing with Apple’s iPhone. While Verizon is the largest carrier in the United States, its market share is small outside the United States. Verizon has been a relatively small player in international markets. Verizon has been a relatively small player in international markets. This is also due to Verizon’s base in CDMA networks where GSM is more of a standard.…

    Cell Phone Comparison

The selected provider must be the best choice for a family of at least 2 to 5 phone lines with an option of up to 10 devices total. I compared five objectives between two phone companies, AT&T and Verizon wireless. I evaluated the plans, phones and features, fees, coverage, and help and support. The plans were the most important objective to look at and were narrowed down to the family plans. AT&T offered two separate plans, the mobile share plan and the family voice plan. Verizon only offered one family plan called the share everything plan. AT&T won the data availably package because they offer more data than Verizon offers. This package would be the best choice for a larger family looking to carry more devices and who use a larger amount of data. Verizon offers unlimited talk and text, as did AT&T, but at a cheaper cost. Comparing the data packages with the cost, Verizon is the best choice for a smaller family who would not use a high amount of data.…
