Simple Machines
hanicalSimple Machines and its Mechanical Advantage
What are Simple Machines? What do we mean by Mechanical Advantage?
Simple Machines * creates a greater output force than the input force
Therefore since work is performed by applying a force over a distance, with the use of these machines we can do more work with lesser effort than working with our bare hands. In short, they make work easier.
Mechanical Advantage * The Ratio between the input force and the output force. * The measure of the force amplification achieved by using a tool, mechanical device or machine system.

Anyway what is input and output force? Input refers to the force you applied while output refers to the resultant force the object has from the input force.
Example: I pushed a ball with 10 N of force, it is rolling with 10 N of force. I input 10 N into it, now it is outputting 10 N.
The Six Classical Simple Machines
The Lever(French word that means “to raise”) * A simple machine that allows you to gain a mechanical advantage in moving an object or in applying a force to an object. It is considered a "pure" simple machine because friction is not a factor to overcome, as in other simple machines.

In our daily lives, a lot of works are applied and used. We can use it wisely by using equipment such as pulley. Through the simulation of pulley, we could see that the work applied in to the pulley by inclining to heavier side of pulley. Pulley can make works easier because humans don’t need to use their own work to lift things up and move. Hanging heavier object on the lope and hang the lighter one on the other side of pulley and wire them to the circular thing. Also when you push the lawn mowers, work applies in to it.…

My simple machine transferred kinetic energy and made work easier. The bar with the handle was about 4 inches. The bar was a 2nd class lever, because the fulcrum was the top of the handle where the bar was glued and the load was the force acting to pull it down, gravity, and the effort was the mousetrap trying to hunch back to its…

Wheel and axle is two disks or cylinders, each one with a different radius. They are used in a chain reaction where the wheel has something done to it to make the axle turn. They are used in cars and door knobs. An inclined plane is a plane that’s inclined at an angle. They are used to make work easier over a longer distance. They work by making someone go further to have less strain from being horizontal or vertical. Some examples of this is a hill, slides, and ladder. A lever is a bar that helps move heavy loads. They can transfer effort and work. They work by pushing on one side with weight on the other. Copies of this is teeter totters and wheel barrows. A wedge looks like a slice of cake or pizza but is usually wood or metal and is 3D. They are used to cut wood and can do many other things like hold doors open. They work by separating or holding items together. A screw is a cylinder with an inclined plane wrapped around it. It does work by pressing things together or putting things together. For example, they can press fruit making juice and books. A pulley is a wheel with a rope that lifts heavy weights. This can make work easier when oneself wants something from off the ground higher. They do work by getting pulled on one side to bring the object up. They can be used in construction to move like metal and…
