Similarities Between To Kill A Mockingbird And 12 Angry Men
J.F. Clark once said, “The bravest of individuals is the one who obeys his or her conscience”. In other ways, it takes courage to do what your mind tells you rather than you forcing yourself. This statement is accepted because your mind tells you what is right or wrong, and sometimes there’s consequence with the situation. In the play, 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, and the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the characters face what they truly believe through the characters in the play and novel, what’s right, despite the attacks and judgement from others is define brave, using characterization and conflict.

In the play, 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, characterization is an important literary element. Juror 8 character is an intelligent men who is the only one who stay with his belief, even when others was disagreeing. He demonstrate his truth to others, convince the others to change their votes to “not guilty”. Juror 8 is a person who obey his conscience, within consequence of the Jurors who did not agree.

Atticus is attorney, who is assigned to represent Tom Robinson. Other people though because Atticus had to represent an African American, he wasn’t suppose to care about the case but, he didn't want to put innocence person to jail for no reason. Atticus did his job and done his homework to help Tom, and prove than Tom did not rape Mayella. Boo Radley is a big man that people didn't like because he stab his father and have been in the house ever since. However, he save Scout and Jem from Bob Ewell. Boo did what he know what was right, even leaving the house and someone seeing him. Scout and others realize that Boo Radley is not a dangerous person that everyone thought he was. On Halloween night, Scout and Jem are walking home from their school’s annual Halloween play when a drunken Bob Ewell abruptly attacks Scout and Jem.
