After reading an excerpt from Revolution, and historical accounts there are many similarities. The historical fiction book and historical accounts all took place in Mississippi. Freedom Day,
Thursday, July 1964 was a big part in Revolution and the historical accounts. There were many riots to try to ban segregation and the Literacy tests. In the book Revolution, it says, “They tumble off the bus with signs that say FREEDOM NOW! And WE WANT TO VOTE! And ONE MAN ONE VOTE!” Freedom day was so important because when they tried to end the literacy test and allow everyone to vote.
