Similarities Between Macbeth And Macduff
Macbeth and Macduff opposite sides to the same coin. Though Macbeth and Macduff appear very different, they have quite a few things in common. Macbeth is very ambitious and seeking power where as Macduff does not disregard the people around him to simply further his own goals, and instead puts the people of his sovereign country ahead of himself. Another example would be that both were brave.

He wanted to be king and he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen even betraying one of his closest friends “The deal is closed. Banquo , if your soul is going to make it to heaven, tonight’s the night” (3.1.141-142) . His conscious felt bad at first yet in the end he was able to bury it and become cold, willing to do whatever was needed to retain his power and crush any opposition. He was heavily influenced by others, and he may have been very intelligent yet, even he didn’t always think things through. Macduff knew that Macbeth could not remain in power. Macbeth was paranoid always afraid that someone was attempting to take his throne.Macduff on the other hand was straight to the point, respectful, and truthful.
Nothing would stop Macbeth from getting his way and he did not hesitate to do the dirty work. Macduff was a person that had a conscience and was willing to follow it, and when Macbeth was killed, he felt like he had done the right thing for the people.
