This survey consisted of 9 questions regarding customer service representatives’ courtesy, customer satisfaction with store appearance and selection of products. Other factors such as store hour convenience and the appearance of the merchandise on the shelves was reviewed. According to a Kudler Fine Foods survey taken in 2012, the item disagreed with most frequently is, “The merchandise sold is a good value for the money.” ("Kudler Fine Foods", 2012). Apparently a majority of customers do not see the value of gourmet foods. Customers shop at the stores knowing they are a gourmet foods supplier, and must understand that gourmet foods are going to be more expensive, but that does not mean they consider it a good value for the price.…

The goal is to provide customers with the best service by going “to extensive lengths to assure that Kudler Fine Foods is the purveyor of choice for customers aspiring to purchase the finest epicurean delights” (Kudler Fine Foods, About, 2011, para. 3,). Oregano’s uses the freshest ingredients when preparing food. It is said on their menu this disclaimer. I can’t say if that is credible but it sure does taste so. I ordered the chicken penne pasta with marinara sauce that was to die for. The aroma of the oregano and basil filled my nostrils when the waiter sat the plate in front of me. Before I could even place my fork up to take that first bite the waiter asked us if we wanted cheese. My friend declined his offer and the waiter seemed quite offended in a humorous way that made me chuckle. Of course when he asked me I gladly shook my head yes. I think that is when I seen the most beautiful thing ever. He picked up a big cooking spoon and scooped up parmesan cheese from the bucket and placed it over my pasta. In my past experiences at other Italian restaurants they would only give you a little or they will grate the cheese over your plate. The problem with them grating it is that I always want more but I feel like that start getting irritated with me because their arm starts getting tired. So if you ever had this problem Oregano’s is for you! With this order you are able to have refills on your pasta and even able to take one to go. Another plus because usually restaurants want you to just eat it there so they will save on money. The best part I would have to say about the meal was the free pizooki. The hot chocolate chip cookie oozing chocolate…

Pappadeaux is a successful upscale casual restaurant concept with a loyal following. But no restaurant is immune to the highly competitive climate of the industry. Recent studies have shown the upscale casual segment losing market share to both fast and traditional casual restaurants. They also show that consumers find value in upscale casual dining by weighing the food quality and the overall experience against the relatively higher price (Technomic, Inc., 2013). We analyzed customer reviews to discern what Pappadeaux's guests are responding to in terms of value. Based on this analysis, customers respond overwhelmingly positively to food quality, and food quality is the most critical factor in their value calculation. Price is still an issue, even those delighted by food quality comment on high prices. Customer comments also suggest that portion sizes may be overly large, and that the investment in large portions is out of step with its importance to the guests. Pappadeaux may benefit from featuring new menu items with reduced portion and price. Such offerings at other restaurants have led to increased traffic, revenue, and per person average (PPA) (Jennings 2008).…
