This standard is the same as it is anywhere else, and any Sigma Chi’s who are claiming “inactive status” are doing so against the legal parameters of their chapter and are doing so undetected. Even much larger chapters such as Michigan State (110+ members) were able to get 100% collections from their brotherhood. For your information, some other chapters have achieved this via threat of the collections process, which ruins your financial credit going forward. As we see it, that would be a much more severe and lasting consequence than the official Form-50 process we have proposed.

The pledge process, though extremely important, is merely an initial step towards being a brother of the Sigma Chi fraternity. The constitution you acknowledged during your pledge term placed heavy emphasis on lifelong commitment, and required you to pay all dues owed to the chapter throughout your time as an undergraduate member. Since then, you’re actions have indicated the exact opposite, as you have blown off subsequent Initiation responsibilities, and have removed yourself from attending any chapter meetings or having any involvement with the business of the
