Should The Death Penalty Be Abolished?
Gary Graham an 18 year old male who was convicted for robbery and murder, with only one witness that claimed she saw him from her windshield thirty to forty feet away. Gary was executed in 2000, 19 years later after being convicted. Imagine someone being sentenced for 19 years, let alone a teenager for being accused with no physical evidence. The weapon that killed the victim was not the same that belonged to Graham. His murder was unjust and unnecessary for that and many more reasons, capital punishment should be outlawed and not be a legal system that deals with the criminals in society. Capital punishment is costly, unjust for minorities and is not the moral right thing to do.

Over the years capital punishment has been banishing from countries, innocence people have been convicted and executed too many times for the system to uphold any longer. Nearly 40 years of evidence proves the death penalty does not work. The system should not be an option any longer. There are other ways for criminals to pay for their crime no matter how big it was, and no matter what society thinks. Everyone commits mistakes but that doesn't mean they should be put on death row.

Each side is arguable, but lets face the facts and see why over time the death penalty is a less common method of dealing with crime. Capital punishment is too costly, its unjust for minorities because they are poor and have no say in what happens, and overall killing someone for a wrong they committed isn't the moral right thing to do. Consider the story of Gary Graham, he is spent 19 years suffering for a crime he was accused of committing with no physical evidence and then he was executed.
