Should Students Have To Pass a Test to Graduate?
Should Students Have To Pass A Test To Graduate?

About 25% of student can’t pass the final test, because they only missed a few problems and the points didn’t add up or they just didn’t study for the final test. The final test shows how much you’ve learned since you were in school, or was everything you ever worked on a waste of time. You shouldn't let a test ruin your future. Some student get angry or stressed out because they find out they didn’t pass the final test. Some students don’t go through all that because they know that they can retake that test once more. The students that didn’t pass the test might have a hard time finding a good paying job and or there might not be a lot of job opportunities to choose from in the future. Most jobs do ask to see a diploma to see who they are hiring. As a matter of fact students may think that by them not passing that that’s a huge fall back in life, having them do another year of high school. Students that couldn’t pass the test will have a hard time making money than everyone who passed it and life for them will be harder to manage. A lot of stress can be added to a student’s life. It’s not fair for a student who’s been doing really great since the beginning passing all their regular tests but not the last major one. In addition of them not passing a test can make them have negative thoughts and make them give up, but not all students that don’t pass, cause some have faith in them self’s. It also makes student do it over again and study harder this time and pay more attention. I say no to this final test because it’s not fair to the student’s who have straight A’s but fail the final test and don’t get to walk the stage with the rest of their classmates. The students that didn’t graduate have to find another way to earn their diploma, either it’s from high school or college. How would you feel if you can’t touch your diploma? Most students couldn’t pass the final test so they couldn’t walk

On September 21, 2011 60,000 students were denied their diplomas due to their failure of the Standardized Exit Exams (Standardized High School Exit Exams). Advocates say schools are diminishing the importance of acquiring a diploma and awarding them to students who have not earned them (Standardized High School Exit Exams). Critics believe that the exams create an uneven amount of negative impact on graduation percentages of minority, low-income, and disabled students, without significant proof that theses exams make an academic difference (Standardized High School Exit Exams). On either side of the spectrum, students benefit from this type of testing, i.e. by getting extra help if need and by graduating with an acceptable education, and it leaves them better prepared for life.…

It is already mandatory to have four credits in English, one for every year of High School. This test feels like another English credit. Like the English classes that you already take in school, it tests on the same things that the teachers test you on in class. If students can’t pass the test then it discourages them into thinking that they are not good enough. This is the reason that most students end up dropping out of High School.…

In recent years, there has been the debate on whether or not seniors should have to take finals. When most people were freshmen, seniors didn’t have to take finals if they met the requirements. When people were sophomores, seniors didn’t have to take finals if they met the requirements. When people were junior, seniors didn’t have to take finals if they met the requirements. Now those freshmen are now seniors, they have to take finals. Those freshmen, now seniors, had been looking forward to not taking finals at the end of their senior year. Now those hopes are crushed unless the policy is changed. It should be said that high school students should not be required to take finals in their senior year of high school with some requirements that have to be met to be exempted from finals.…

Nebraska should not require its high school students to take an exit exam to graduate from high school. Even though exit exams make students work harder because they know this test is important and schools can identify student’s weaknesses early we should not have exit exams because it does not increase academic performance or increase students wages in states that do have them. Exit exams do not promote the skills, knowledge and habits needed for success in college or the real world. According to employers and college professors, high school graduates must be able to support arguments with evidence, analyze problems, and solve problems that have no obvious answer, conduct research, reach conclusions, and brainstorm ideas. Also skills needed are good study skills, time management and being aware of your performance.…

Statistical averages of students achievements isn’t the only educational excellence in a school. No matter where the student comes from, whether it involves family backgrounds or other characteristics, they should have fun learning and being able to have a sense of accomplishment in their work. There’s no point in sending an unprepared student to fail further in their future grade. It wouldn’t make sense because the student would only be permitted to the following grade to fail yet again. According to the Editorial Projects in Education (EPE) Research Center, 3 out of 10 students in America’s public school fail to finish high school with a diploma. That counts up to 1.3 million students failing every year.…
