should gay people be allowed to marry
Should gay people be allowed to marry in place of worship?
Of course they should, now I have grown up around gay people and they are no different to us! Why should they be afraid to be who they are? Because of society... Constantly getting judged no matter what? But let’s be honest it doesn’t have any effect to you whether your related, friends or feel the need to voice your opinion. There a happy couple, who feel endless, love for each other. Why feel the need to say something about it. We all fall in love at one point in our life whether it’s to the same sex or not.
Being homophobic isn’t going to make you a good person whether it’s your opinion or not it’s not needed! Why feel the need to comment negatively? People tend to come out with the comment ‘Gay boy!’ whether you have said it recently or have said it in the past I just want to congratulate you for stating the obvious and for making yourself look like a fool. People like you may knock them down but THEY help each other back up again and again.
Here is a quote from the bible ‘Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.’ * This in itself is abomination. Let’s just remind ourselves that god loves us for who we are and forgives us for our sins. Personally I think that it isn’t a sin they’re not hurting anyone why would god judge to loving human beings in comparison to a murder it’s not a crime. It makes me sick to the bone that our country banned public display of affection of gay people in the early 80’ s.
The church is becoming much more modified and is changing frequently, along with the laws of gay marriage. Sooner or later Gay couples will be able to marry in place of worship and so they should. But really why would they want to?
The church has been against them for a long time and although it is becoming more socially acceptable. It does make me question why they would want to. I understand that it’s a beautiful setting but to have the church,

Same sex marriage is currently not an option in 39 states. It has been frowned upon by the church for decades, yet the 14th amendment makes “the elusive promise of equality a reality”. (p.255) In 1996 congress passed DOMA to define the word marriage as a “legal union between one man and one woman” (p.253) This preventing any couples married in one state that allows gay marriage to move to a state without, and receive recognition of their union.…

Although it is thought by many believers, such as in Source B, that churches should be tax exempt because of all the wonderful deeds that they do, such as care for the homeless, provide optimism for the hopeless and provide a quantity of social services for citizens, it is not all flowers and dandelions. Churches necessitate the same infrastructure and government services that other tax paying entities must use, such as roads, fire department, and police. If other people must pay taxes in order to have such services made available to them, churches should be required to follow the identical set of laws.…

“ The Love and acceptance of god must be brought to all people. The prejudice and hatred of the christian right must be rejected and fought. Those who act out of ignorance must be educated.” (Simpson, Bruce J.) All churches need to accept and love their homosexual members and stop rejecting them in the house of the lord. It’s god’s home, he wouldn’t want any tension between the sexes in the house.…

Condemnation of gays can be religious. Most the time this happens when people of a church condemn gays in view of the fact that they do not agree with them, instead of showing them grace. People can disagree with homosexuality but not condemn the person for it. However, there is a debate that the Bible disagreeing with gays may be a quirk of history instead of a moral precept. The author makes a statement that “ Those who invoke religious sentiments for their attitudes toward gays, then, need to examine whether their religious beliefs are here not really a disguise for some animus for which they have no reasons”. In my opinion, people that do not agree with homosexuals on account of a religious stand point cannot condemn them and patronize them. Given that they are wanting a gay to live by the same morals they do they need to treat them with the same respect they would a non homosexual because if a person notices you being repulsive and saying hurtful words to someone just because you disagree with their way of life, it is not proceeding the person to want to live by the same morals and standards you do. Maybe homosexuals have not seen enough grace by religious people to want to be…

Everybody has their own beliefs on homosexuality. Some believe it is a sin, and some believe love is love; whether that is with the opposite or same sex. Homosexuality is something that in this point is time is accepted way more than it was a couple years back. Of course we still have some people who discriminate homosexuals in many ways. Some are against it due to religion, or the way they were brought up, I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion but they should keep an open mind. Like I said, the world is changing and you don’t have to accept it but you should learn to live with it without discriminating or putting them down.…

In the religious community most churches want couples to be married before they live together. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America allows the clergy to determine their own policies. “The United Methodist Church does not allow same-sex marriages, but there is a spilt in the Church over some clergy flouting the rules and marrying same-sex couples and other, more conservative members threatening to leave if the church does not hold to its current rules prohibiting gay marriage” (Pew Research Center).…

The issue on same sex marriage can be argued that it is entirely about government, but it just as much about love and equality as it is law and economics. There are many churches and other places of worship that will perform a marriage ceremony for two people of the same sex. There is no law against two people of the same sex exchanging rings and vows and calling themselves married, or even legally changing their surnames. There are many important protections, benefits, and responsibilities that come with civil marriage and the prohibition of Gay marriage denies these legal and economic benefits, which causes much harm and…

All religions state that only men and women are meant to be married not man to man or woman to woman. Andrew stated in his article that gay married is not a sin and also writes “there may be religious reason for resisting gay marriage that within certain tradition is unanswerable” which I believe is nonsense. The bible says “one man to one woman” I believe most religions believe that God created Adam and eve as the first human beings and soul mates. In the word of bible gay marriage is not accepted, there are not any words in the bible that describe that homosexuality’s acceptance in the eyes of god. So saying that homosexuality is not a sin is an offence to the…
