Should English Be Mandatory?
Should English be a mandatory course through a person's high school life? Should English be a requirement for entry into all university programs in Ontario?

Should English be mandatory? I personally believe that English should be a compulsory course that any student should must attend in English class in high school. There are many reason why English should be a mandatory subject. Most of the students will disagree with taking English because they would argue that English is a very hard subject and they would ask how would it benefit. English is everywhere. English will help anyone with their other subjects in their curriculum, builds up their communication skills, and helps in your everyday livelihood. Let me ask you something about English, do you know exactly the proper way to write a 5 paragraph essay, without a single mistake? And you would say no!This is exactly why an individual should take English.

The importance of taking English is that it is relevant to other subjects.

When students attend and actively participate in English class, they would learn how to write well. A person who shows that they are educated and have good communication skill proves that they are proficient in English. Knowledge is the key and once you have earned that, there is no one in this world that can take it away from you, other than yourself. English is one of the key for anyone to obtain their successful career. The most important key points that were taught in English class will help a student to build up their magnificent quality of resume that any employer reads it, would never forget reading this specific resume in their life time. English is essentially important to everything what we do everyday in home or school, at any situations that build up our communication

All immigrants to the United States should be required to learn English. It would be in their best interest that they learn English. If they didn’t learn English then they would be an outcast to their peers. It would be very difficult for the immigrants to communicate with other people without knowing English. I feel that English should be the official language of the United States. Though as I read on some of the articles I understand that there are pros and cons to the factor. Though today in the United States most of our country already speaks English. Which is a factor because more people can communicate with one another if they know English as their language. Other pros that I have read and agreed on is the fact if English was the official language that it would save the government a lot of money for printing other text and materials in a different language.…

One recent yet continuing argument on American college campuses tends to put school against school, professor against professor, student against student, school against professor, professor against student and student against school. Some believe the idea is absurd, while others believe it is a progressive move toward 21st century education. Although some people believe the entire world should speak English, the reality is that all Americans should have some degree of formal education in a foreign language.…

English is said to be the most common and used language on Earth. People from all over the world use it to communicate with individuals from other countries. Moreover, in almost all of the European schools English is the mandatory first language. This brings us to the question: What about the English native speakers? Is there any need for them to study other foreign languages? According to a recent survey in the UK, an overwhelming number of British state schools (sixty per cent in fact) and three quarters of 14-year-olds do not study a modern language. Furthermore, the study of foreign languages in the universities, with the exception of Mandarin, is gradually becoming extinct. Even so, there is a considerable disagreement over whether a British person should bother over learning any language other than English.…
