Short Story The Monkey's Paw
In the horror fiction story “The Monkey's Paw” The White family relieves a charmed monkey's paw from a friend, who warns them to be careful and destroy it. The Whites choose not to heed the warning and Mr. White wishes for 200 pounds in order to help pay off any bills he has. The next day, Mr. and Mrs. White have found out that their only son has died in a machinery accident at work and they are given 200 pounds as collateral.

I strongly believe that Herbert's death resulting in the collateral money was only made possible because of Mr. White's wish. There is no possible way that this event could have been foreseen. Especially the exact amount of the money that Mr. White wished for. There's something freaky going on and that monkey
