Shining Star Head Start Emergency Plan
Shining Star Head Start emergency evacuation plans are maps and information for teacher and students. That maps by the door of each class room tell me Mrs. Nancy where her and her students are right now. Then it shows them the exits that are closer to them so they can get out of the building safely without harm. Also above are emergency contact phone numbers for students, police, and fire department. When I think about emergencies they are a critical thing to have happen and the way we deal with them is just as important. The emergency plan is near the door of each classroom is must and knowing it and what to do is also. See teachers should not just know where it is, but be able to use the information to make their classroom and the daycare

Everybody knows exactly what to do, where to be and there is no confusion. The plan includes emergency evacuation routes. For this assignment, I conducted much research on the Head Start Program. I visited the West End Gardens Head Start facility. There, I conducted an interview of three employees, where I sought to gain a better understanding of the overall nature of the Head Start program. This Head Start facility is located at 534 West 4th street in Plainfield, New Jersey. The neighborhood is very urban, where as, there were many people out and about walking on the streets. Its atmosphere is metropolitan and built up with many stores, offices, and municipal buildings. I found it surprising that children's school would be on such a busy street. All of the traffic made me a little weary about how safe the environment was. I chose this particular location because of its close proximity to my home.…

For this assignment, I conducted much research on the Head Start Program. Head Start is a child development program, which provides aid and assistance to financially less fortunate families. It serves children from birth to age 5, pregnant women, and their families. Head Start is child centered and focuses much attention on preparing young children from low-income families for school. Head Start helps parents improve their basic literacy, numeric skills and employability skills. It promotes children's developmental growth through early childhood education. The Head Start program holds classes, which instruct parents on how to promote their child's cognitive, social, language, and physical development. This program is of great importance, and coincides to what we are learning about in class. It attempts to break the cycles of poverty and lack of education of those living in paucity. It prepares the poorest children in our nation for kindergarten and beyond. Across the country, thousands of families reap the benefits of Head Start.…

If I was the principle for a school I would have a safety plan for my school just in case a tornado hit the school my plan would be to have every one move into a classroom with no windows or the room is not on the outs side walls. We would move to this room and tell them to get in a designated corner as soon as a tornado was spotted we would stay there until it is over if. We would have a pre recorded message to call every parent if we had spotted a tornado. We would let all the parents know that there kid will be ok and we would not release them until the tornado is gone.…

A critical factor must be to assure that all infant age groups are supervised by sight and sound to ensure accountability at all times. An adult-infant ratio 1:4 must be maintained and documented on the “We Care Sheet” every 15-30 minutes. All rooms in the center maintain a first aid kit that is checked daily and stocked as needed. Current medical special needs documents are posted and medication used for allergic reactions are attached to the first aid kit. I’ve been trained in First Aid, CPR and am also a certified EMT-Emergency Medical Technician. Our room has an evacuation diagram posted at fire exits and all employees are trained on emergency evacuation procedures. Our center works closely with the DLA Fire Department which provides monthly fire drills to ensure established procedures are being followed. The monthly drills allow the opportunity for infants to become familiar with the process.…
