She's Your Basic Lll Language Analysis
Many of us at one point in time have heard someone use some kind of jargon. In the essay, "She's Your Basic LOL" written by Perri Klass I actually learned why jargon is actually used. Of course in many situations the jargon can be differnet but the reason for the language is more than likely the same. I believe that jargon can be appropriate in many different situations. When in an emergency room atmosphere I can definitely see the importance as well as being a team member or coach for a sport. Jargon can also be appropriate in a work place environment.
First, being in an emergency room environment you may hear a lot of code or abbreviations being yelled across the room at different staff members. The reason being is that it allows the staff to communicate faster in order to better assist the patient. Image being able to sum up one completely sentence in to 3 letters. Klass states ""Mrs. Tolstoy is you basic LOL in NAD, admitted for a soft rule out MI," th intern announces." She then went on and explained the meaning of the abbreviations used and realized herself the benefit of those abbreviations. Furthermore, jargon used in this environment helps keeps patients from panicking …show more content…
The use of this language engages faster communication, confidential conversation between two parties and it also shortens the amount one has to write or type, results in more time to do something else.
