Sherlock's Parody: A Narrative Fiction
Samuel smiled as his German Shepherd flinched away from a tiny kitten hissing at them. Sherlock was the biggest baby any full-grown dog could be. He was scared of practically anything, but the only thing that dragged him out of his constant worrying--aside from long belly rubs--was the smell of chocolate. It was weird, but true. Sherlock pulled on the leash so unexpectedly, it almost knocked Sam off balance. The troublesome dog had them barreling down the street, despite its currently icy state. A feminine squeal followed Sam spotting a young woman slipping on the ice, her chocolaty drink falling and spilling on the sidewalk. That explained Sherlock’s sudden determination to move. Before Sam realized what he was doing, he had the young woman by the elbows, keeping her upright. …show more content…
Then, he came to his senses and realized that he hadn’t even introduced himself. Way to go, man. “Sorry for not saying before--my name’s Sam.”
She stood up and wiped the doggy slobber off of her face with her scarf. “Michele. And thank you again for catching me when I fell.”
He had meant to say ‘Again, no problem’, but right in the middle of that statement, Sherlock jumped up and started licking Sam’s face, interrupting his sentence.
Michele giggled and let out a tiny, adorable snort. A responding laugh came out of Sam before he could stop it, and pretty soon they were both giggling and laughing.
“I’m sorry, usually I don’t giggle.” Michele laugh-stated.
Before Sam knew what had come out of his mouth, he said “Don’t apologize--it’s cute.” Pretty soon, that statement left them both blushing as Sherlock rubbed against Sam’s legs, begging for attention. To cover his embarrassment, he said, “Anyway, since the ice stole your drink, perhaps I can buy you another one?”
She gave him a bright, beautiful smile. “Only if you get one too.”
