Executive Summary

Shell is one of the global energy and petroleum companies around the world. The strategy of Shell Company is to generate more profit for the organization and to move forward the business investments so that Shell Company is sustaining a competitive situation in the Global market and to provide revenues to the shareholders by meeting the global demand. Shell Company believes that oil and gas will remain one of the integral needs of global energy for economic development and Shell Company role is to provide the global with the high standard oil and gas without out harming the environment.
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is one of the largest branches of Shell in Nigeria. When the oil spillage of Shell Company happened in Niger delta the media and social NGO’s started spreading rumors that Shell Company is harming the environment and not considering environment while investing the petroleum energy. This issue associated the CEO of Shell Company, the Investors and the local employee of Shell Nigeria. The CEO had to make decision regarding the compensation payment and cleaning of the environment. The investors were concerned about their investments in Nigeria that if the situation did not get well what will happen to their investments. The local employee was concerned about their jobs and families in the community because the community was not treating them well as they were part of the company which had harmed the environment.
Shell Company should provide compensation to the Nigerian Government and local community and also should clean the environment this would be costly for Shell Company but in return Shell Company will earn trust and respect of the local community and will again have a reputable image among the community.

    The Oil Spill, due to the mismanaged oil drilling by British Petroleum (BP), in the Gulf of Mexico, has turned into one of the worst environmental disasters to happen to an ocean ecosystem of all time.
