The Shanghai Wireless Cafe serves as a restaurant as well as a hotspot for wireless users. In order for the cafe to maintain their competitive advantage, they have to consider how to use latest technology trends so as to keep the business profitable and popular. To this direction, this paper focuses on Web 2.0, Mobile and E-commerce technologies, analyzing the risks and benefits of each area and how each of them can contribute to the expand of Shanghai Wireless Café.

1. Introduction

The Shanghai Wireless Cafe serves as a restaurant as well as a hotspot for Wireless users. Its location on the famous Bund along the Huangpu River makes it a destination for locals and visitors. The Café was awarded the Shanghai “Golden Chopsticks”, an award for best Chinese cuisine and Shanghai Reader’s survey restaurant award, for best Wireless connectivity.

Satisfied or dissatisfied customers will be able to post their comments/complaints in public, and an employee will be assigned to review and reply (mostly to the complaints).
