Name:Yuyin Jia
Course: Canadian Economic Issue
Date: June 16, 2012

Background Information Air Transportation Association of Canada (ATAC) came into existence as a result of a conference of aircraft operators and aircraft manufacturers held in Ottawa on November 18, 1934. Forty-one delegates from commercial companies were present, as well as nine representatives from the Civil Aviation Division-which was then under the Department of National Defence, and five members of the National Research Council. The association was called the Commercial Air Transport and Manufacturers ' Association of Canada. On November 2, 1942 the name was changed to the Air Industries and Transport Association of Canada and on April 9, 1962, when the industrial members withdrew, the continuing group formed in 1934 was renamed the Air Transport Association of Canada. Nowadays, ATAC advances the issues that affect members ' bottom lines. They deliver direct value through a set of services, which help shape the development of those issues in the public realm. Also, it serves as Canada 's national trade association for commercial aviation and flight training industries as well as aviation industry suppliers.
Membership
ATAC represents over 200 air service providers and affiliated companies in Canada. Collectively, their member companies account for over 95% of commercial aviation revenues in Canada. It is located at 255 Albert Street, suite 700, in Ottawa, has a permanent staff of 8, headed by a President and CEO, and a Board of Directors from various member companies, elected by the membership. The membership currently stands at approximately 200 Operator and Associate Members. Since 2011, Harvey J. Friesen and John McKenna are the chairman and President&CEO, respectively. In addition, the ATAC Honorary Life Membership is the Association 's highest award. It is awarded to individuals who, during their

Historical Background: Jewish dispersion throughout Europe, the Diaspora, began during the Roman Empire. Throughout the Middle Ages, rulers and Christian church authorities passed laws limiting Jewish professions and land ownership, and requiring that Jews be publicly identified by dress. Jewish religious observances and customs, including Saturday Sabbath worship, prohibitions against consumption of pork, and circumcision set them apart from and often aroused the hostility of the Christian communities in which they lived. This hostility resulted in periodic expulsions of Jews, as in France in 1182 and later in 1306, and in England in 1290. Devastated by Mongol invasions in the 13th century, Polish princes welcomed immigrants from Western Europe which resulted in the establishment of a large Jewish population there by the sixteenth century.…

Who is Abigail Williams? is she a liar, a witch or is she really just an honest soul trying to prove her innocence? Some people could relate to Abigail, but those people are probably the liars and cheats of this world. Abigail Williams is one of the characters that made the least number of changes in The Crucible. Abigail's lies never changed throughout The Crucible and she continued to be deceptive. She refused to tell what happened in the woods and she lied about seeing people with the devil. In the beginning Abigail is denying all the things Paris saw when he ventured into the woods and discovered the girls dancing in a circle naked around Tituba. Near the middle of The Crucible Abigail continues to lie about the situation and the people she blamed. Then in the end Abigail remained the same and vanished without a trace.…

The earliest visible lesion of atherosclerosis is the fatty streak, which is due to an accumulation of lipid-laden foam cells in the intimal layer of the artery. With time, the fatty streak evolves into a fibrous plaque, the hallmark of established atherosclerosis. Ultimately the lesion may evolve to contain large amounts of lipid; if it becomes unstable, denudation of overlying endothelium, or plaque rupture, may result in thrombotic occlusion of the overlying artery.…

Maurice Felix Charles Allais was a French economist and a proud recipient of Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics. He was conferred this honor for his commendable contribution to the theory of markets and efficient utilization of resources. He was the first French citizen to receive the Nobel Prize. Allais showed that his insights could be applied efficiently to set prices for state owned monopolies of which France had many. Allais didn't get credit as early as his English contemporaries did as he primarily wrote in English and not French. As said by Paul Samuelson, a noted economist, "Had Allais' work been in English, a generation of economic theory would have taken a different course". Allais also helped resolve issues regarding monetarism, which is the quantity theory of money and the utility theory. Besides his avid interest in economics, Maurice Allais had a great interest for physics and he performed experiments in gravitation, special relativity, and electromagnetism and discovered the Allais effect.…

The International Criminal Court or ICC , which was adopted in July 17,1998, in Rome, Italy, is a permanent tribunal for the most serious International Crimes such as Genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. Jose Ayala once said, “A person stands a better chance of being tried and judged for killing one human being than for killing 100,000”. Unfortunately that comment is accurate, we need the International Criminal Court to end impunity, to take over when national criminal justice institutions are unwilling or unable to act, and to deter future war criminals. Warcrimes have been a continual distress to mankind for centuries, currently ICC is not perfect but with time it will correct the mishaps and mistakes it has been making in their early days of existence.…
